What is common to Kekule's benzene structure, Mendeleev's periodic table,
Howe's sewing machine, Neil Bohr's model of atom & Gandhiji's Dandi March.
All of them were innovative solutions [to problems] which had the genesis in dreams. There are innumerable such examples where people have literally dreamt up solutions which they could not have arrived in the waking state.
During dreams, sensory inputs are blocked and ego-sense 'I' is absent. This allows random thought patterns from existing memories stored in the brain.
The dreaming process follows Maxwellian distribution [the bell curve] where people dream about a day's events or activities. The day's learning process is consolidated during sleep. The brain synchronises random thoughts into a powerful single thought. 100 billion neurons synchronise in a laser-like fashion to produce higher dimensional thought.
We have no control over our dreams but we can control our day's events which ultimately gets reflected in our dreams. This means we can deliberately produce solution dreams. This comes as good news to goal-oriented people. To get productive dreams we need to be active mentally & physically, in a positive way, during the waking hours.
