You are confused and trying to confuse others. You have no policy that is clear. Read all of your postings and better come to a conclusion. Plz don't give any clarification further unless you want to confuse the whole issue.

" Borrowing any thing which we do not have is one thing. It can be called 'borrowing words' or something similar to that. "Using new words in place of existing words indiscreetly' is called 'depletion of our own vocabulary'.

Any thing we do not have can be borrowed, this is what you have to agree in the beginning ! Whether it was language , tech., litt., life style.........
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 26, Aug 2005 9:09:52 PM IST If other language singers are able to sing in Telugu with proper diction, it can be welcome (just as P. Susheela did in Tamil).
It can be called 'survival of the fittest'.
If others continue to sing as they like and if we still tolerate & wink at such funny pronunciations and lack of nativity,
it will be 'survival of the mis-fittest'
Posted by: SATYA RAMA PRASAD KALLURI At: 26, Aug 2005 1:58:11 AM IST If film industry identifies a set of telugu singers and promotes simultaneouly other language singers it shows a broad minded.
There was no singer at all from telugu region and develop only other language singers, what do you call, it?
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 25, Aug 2005 11:33:12 PM IST Let us not show narrow-mindedness. If the person can pronounce all the letters properly (of course along with a sweet voice), why should anybody object?
That way, Suseela got so many national awards for her Tamil songs. She could maintain the perfect Tamil accent while singing Tamil songs and so on.
Chitra too is doing reasonable justice to Telugu songs. There are many singers of other languages who are singing in Telugu without catching the 'pulse' of Telugu language. Encouraging such tendency is not correct. Our directors and lyrics should explain them regarding the typical letters of Telugu wherever necessary. Our old generation directors & lyrics used to be very careful in this aspect.
We should not meekly accept wrong pronunciation under the name of 'modern style'.
Posted by: SATYA RAMA PRASAD KALLURI At: 13, Aug 2005 2:44:50 AM IST Chitra , is Malayalee I think !
After P. suseela she occupied Telugu Film Industry. And it is true every one is more accomodative than required.
Very good justification.
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 12, Aug 2005 1:49:26 PM IST Normally we are not proud of ourselves. Whenever a Tamil-background person does some feat/achieves something, we suddenly become alert & remember our 'lost pride'. Otherwise, we are over-accommodative!
Posted by: SATYA RAMA PRASAD KALLURI At: 10, Aug 2005 8:17:51 PM IST I think most of classical/ singers stay put in chennai, i also feel chennai/tamilnadu gives lot of importance to artists and fine arts, classical music etc. Mrs.Janaki, Ms.Susheela, MR. Balamuralikrishna, Ms.Bhanumathi all stay in chennai, if i am not wrong.
