Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 31, Jan 2005 8:36:31 PM IST Good topic....
i came even into sports to bug u ppl...not at all sorry for tht..
first of all, the problem with Indian sports are
1. sports r not given importance by parents as they r more worried abt studies to make a "good" career of their children.
2. Govt can't see the use of sports until n unless someone gets atleast a bronze medal in international sports meet. and when they get it, and come on to news media..then one can see how much the Govet does for them...a plot in their native place...money n money...and haameela meeda haameelu...
The main problem with Indians n even govt is...we r more inclined towards gettin a medal and not participation...
sports r meant for exchangin ideas n views...to increase the sportiveness...to accept challenges..but our aim is to get a medal....by hook or crook...
so we r endin up in such cases...
and moreover ...we make our participants overconfident and doesn't give a feedback which can help improve their game ...
sports shud b given importance in life as they r not only useful for their physical growth but also for mental growth..
hope i answered to the point..
good threads r always to be respected...i liked this one and thought "better late than never" and so gave my opinion ...may b to start up the thread again...
best wishes,
Voice.

see where China stands in Olympic ranks?? Why can't India get closure to it atleast... :(
