Hope you are looking into this - The ball is always in your court after all!
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 20, Jun 2005 8:06:50 PM IST and Balaji saar,
I do agree with whatever u said..
Did u post anything similar when four lettered words have been using directly against people here?
Were u bothered when people were attacked personally and have been harrassed and filthy mails have been circulated about their families?
Were you in when people were abused in the filthest of terms?
My question is - why are such posts talking about decency on the forum coming in only know? Is it because some people, used to throwing stones at others are at the receiving end now and unable to defend themselves in a straight forward manner?
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 20, Jun 2005 7:41:07 PM IST As far as I know, this is the first time that a profile has been deleted .. earlier only the posts used to be censored. The people here would definitely like to know what made the admin take such a drastic step and what NTVodu actually did behind the scenes so as to call for such an action?
Any absence of proof from the admin would make people conclude that it was done under political pressure. But if the admin has a justifiable reason then I will be the first to support the punitive action.
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 20, Jun 2005 7:25:51 PM IST Exactly. So the person who first spoke rude matters should be kicked out first .. right?
Unparliamentary language - Atleast 3 people whohave used unparliamentary filthy language have been roaming around freely and NTVodu had not used any filthy language and I strongly feel admin was not justified in deleting her profile. What if the person who compalined about filth himself used filthy language earlier?
And if they have the proof, let them come out with it .. if they are justified in deleting nay profile then everyone would accept it!

I was merely talking about the need for the admins to be unbiased and
even though I completely understand the political pressures a few people tend to put on the admin unfortunately, I would appreciate it if the decisions are taken only after verifying the facts - else the DB loses general traffic and only politicians would chat here

Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 19, Jun 2005 5:36:03 PM IST Well, admin need not watch each and every thread 24x7. But it must be realized that it takes two to tango
Rules must be the same for all the people - How does it feel to have real obnoxious people remain on the forum while a few people get punished just because the wife of a so called VIP complains against her?
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 19, Jun 2005 4:30:14 PM IST payment option for the moderators is good ,but ,i somehow have a feeling ,people might literally buy their moderator status .
I did suggest ,that the admin shortlist or conclude ,by various means ,methods a yardstick ,wherein ,the eligible moderators be discolsed . After that ,if he/she is willing to pay ,and spend the requisite time ,that would be a good option .
Another point would be to not display the posts as soon as they are posted ,but ,the posts can be displayed as soon as they are moderated .
Idea of free environment is not to misue a priviledge . Its just like urinating in the public ,just because you arent liable to anyone .
Free environments can only exist when the posts conform to the rules and regulations as prescribed by the admin .
