/*do you guys know waht a "Govt/Security Clearance" is ? I came across that when i was trying to fill some online job application. Posted by: Lazybones At: 22, Jul 2004 5:26:16 AM IST */ From what I know there are different levels of security clearances for some classified jobs. For some types of security clearance the primary requirement is that the person MUST be US Citizen and for some a person on Permanent Resident (GC)/H1B status can get the clearance but it takes awful lot of time. You need to find the level of security clearance a job needs before you apply. And based on that security clearance type you can decide if you can qualify for the job or not. From what I understand is....that some jobs in sensitive organizations like defense contracts, aviation etc need this clearance for obvious reasons and I believe you can obtain a pre-clearance so its handy when you apply for one
