| :) just got a hint from my friend that it can be solved in 5 moves :(( .. back to work now ..:)

sorry my bad ...i just tried to use the same example that krishna used...
i guess the xplanation is same for both the cases .. ya partha still open ..i got 6 as max number of moves. in worst case ..

lets say 2nd move u checked 1 3
3rd move is such that u will end up like this

you will be checkin 3 4 again vertically

The positions of 1234 should not change right? But why is 1 and 4 diagonal one time and they are adjacent in the next turn?
Is that the solution Ravi or is it still an open puzzle?

on every turn of the table .. he is allowed to feel 2 corners..
---) he does not change his position..
---) so for the next turn of the table.. he first feels the same corner every time which is closer to him.. and then relatively he will have to change only the second corner on each move.. and that makes a total of 4 moves enough..
like suppose.. on the first move.. he
1st move
---------
1 2
3 4
ME
Suppose that I am standing at " ME "
-- ) I will feel 3 and 4
2nd move
---------
2 3
1 4
ME
here I will feel 1 and 3
2nd move
---------
3 4
2 1
ME
here I will feel 2 and 3
Do u understand.. I will fell the 1 horizontal.. 1 vertical and 1 diagnol corners each time..
and each time u feel u will move only if they are not in order.. so only the time that u change something makes a count.. so u will change all of them in a max of 4 counts

this would be the right answer may be.. cas every time the table rotates..
he will just have to see if the cups he has at his side and he will move them only when he finds that they are out of order..
and changing all the four into the proper order would be 4

I guess since there are only 4 corners and we can check two corners each time, we can easily find out how many moves are made by selectively checking corners next time.
i got the solution. :) just to make it easier ..the worst case scenario - (if the guy who is rotating knows about how you are solving the puzzle...and he rotates is to make it harder for u ) max moves needed is 6.. :) guesss now its lott easier ..:)

"RANDOM" word is used......
tehre wont be exact number of moves.......still we can calculate expected number of ways by probability????
probability prakaaram cheyyaalaa????
or there anymore conditions??
