I still say Aalayam means "A place to stay / Abode", especially when used with a prefix and it has nothing to do with being sacred... None of the alayams I mentioned is a sacred place .. its jsut Devaalayam that is sacred ... and it is not AALAYAM same as Devaalayam ... Every DEVAALAYAM/GUDI is a AALAYAM but every AALAYAM is not a DEVAALAYAM ... So, as I said better find my other posts where I made mistakes .. not this one for sure!

My point was AALAYAM is a sacred place, you took the temple part of it and came up to associate it with souchalayam etc. Not sure if I knew I was trying to margadarsify anybody here, so lets leave that part! I dont wanna drag this thing beyond people's patience here, so THATS IT from me! :-)

Everybody over here knows there is hell a lot of difference betwen AALAYAM and DEVAALAYAM .. so your attempt to "Margadarsify" me on this doesnt come out well .. try the other threads ... there are many ... and as I said earlier, I have enough Guts to accept my mistakes if I made any .. no qualms about it ... I dont try to justify them giving obscure reasons!

Souchaalayam, Kaaryaalayam, Bhojanaalayam and Aushadhaalayam are the words used even by the Goverment and NONE of these words refers to a temple ... so associating the prefixed-aalayam with a temple is DISGUSTING, not the word Souchaalayam

Thank God, you did not associate the first word with 'Devalayam'!!! Would have been a classic example to teach the kids the definition of 'aalayam'! :-) --------------------------------------------- This still doest answer the question how Sauchaalayam can become a temple going by your own definition of aalayam ... And it is YOUR interpretation of the word aalayam that makes these tjhings utterly disgusting .. not the Actual meaning Fiddling had to be done to make sure we are not insulting Gods by making them share a sacred place with ghosts! _____________________________________________ First go read the dayyala thread and tell me which God was sharing a sacred place with Ghosts and before that .. go get the meaning of Aalayam correctly
