General Forum: Govt. and Politics | Is Chandrababu Naidu really taking the state forward? | |
| andhra is very proud to have CM like Chandrababunaidu.First Every telugu person
be proud to say he is our CM.No other CM in
INDIA Is as good as him and they are not
capable of doing any development. He is making
andhra pradesh as Swarna AndhraPradesh
Posted by: Mr. Lingamurthy Kanuri At: 20, Jun 2001 12:38:42 PM IST I think any CM (Chandra Babu in this case) can not do every thing. There is a person specified to do each and every single thing. The only thing CM has to do is push his sub-ordinates. No CM can have all the knowledge about each and every simple aspect of state's growth. All he has to do is wake up the bureaucrats and ask to work. And compared to other CMs he is doing a pretty nice job in this. But frankly they are politicians. Most of their time, they spend with their party affairs rather than concentrating on state.
You can not expect every thing to happen overnight. Atleast this CM is showing some improvement in IT. Do you know what previous CMs did in any sector ??. Nothing significant. Whoever came on to this chair, they had their share of public money and had to leave.
The root cause for all the problems is illiteracy. People are not responsible. Can you say whole heartedly that you never bribed a government employee ??. People are not sincere. They do not care to choose a proper leader for 'em.
Chandra babu atleast is doing some thing if not every thing. When it comes to World bank's debt, there is not even one CM who tried to reduce it. Otherwise how can they earn their money.

Posted by: Ayyavaru Sivalenka At: 2, Feb 2001 10:15:13 PM IST Guys compared to other politicians I think he is a much better person. Atleast he is doing something for the state. It will take sometime to acheive his goals. I hope he will continue to do good things for our state.
Posted by: Mr Rajesh Reddy At: 24, Jan 2001 2:16:29 PM IST I am not really sure that he is!
He certainly seems to be making all the right noises round the world but needs to get to grips with the corruption devil on the homefront I think!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Ms Uma Adapa-Surti At: 16, Jan 2001 3:10:05 AM IST I appreciate the views expressed by many of my friends in this site.their optimism towards the capabilities of the present government is encouraging.the decent roads, new flyovers give a rosy look to the urbans. The penchant of our CM for the sophistication of the state is highly commendable. But hold one sec.is this all??? how many of the top rank holders in OU Engineering college can proudly say they are from OU ?? A state which boasts of excellent technolgy hub cannot put a check on fake certificates!! a hyderabadi visits American consulate he encounters a suspicious eye questioning his integrity.Let us not talk about IIIT or ISB protect the sanctity of the existing Universities.why do we talk about Microsoft and Oracle at HITEC city.what is the status of our heritage Balnagar and cherlapally sick units??let us not talk about governance in Singapore.think about the law and order in AP.The ministers are butchered. oh god save the common man!!let us not think as an IT proff working in one of the MNCs think about the farmers the bread producers for us.what is the progress made by this government in the last five years?? increased world bank debt!!hiked power tariffs(dont ask me about the services)perhaps we can afford to inrease them but sorry we cannot think of alternative resources neither can we think of setting up projects .oh no we are very busy we have our guests coming to see our presentations.Poor farmer- the bread producer-our progress is suicidal deaths of farmers.is this what we call progress?? many of the gram panchayaths were merged into municipalities result-increased tax rate.(again dont ask me whether the living conditions improved??)where are we heading to ?? an unaccounted expenditure in janma bhoomi programmes?? how much is a common man benefitted?? what is the expenditure incurred by the state on these programs. I still remember those days when i was studying in OUCE we worked for one day to clean our department premises.it was a joy for one day.it is to anyones guess whether we worked in the same way the following days.but the expendtiure for tools and refreshments was more than what our work was worth.Let the administration with a battery of high think tanks -so called IAS officers- think in a practical direction to do a little to the state than thinking of a palace in Jubilee Hills.how far and how long can we close our eyes?? what is the fate of the people once this government ends its tenure.heavy taxes, cut in subsidies.no developmental programmes. These is the future of AP if it goes in the same pace.No IT is not the solution for many needs of our state.IT can account to a miniscule share in its development.create a conducive environment for other industries.IT can generate a ready income resource but future lies in establishing conventional industries.
Posted by: Mr. Nittala RAVIKRISHNA At: 3, Jan 2001 11:15:48 PM IST Our state's economy is so bad that even half of the budget money is
not released to concerned departments and projects this year. it just
one exmple to say whether the Naidu is taking our state forward or
backward. Electricity board is running into crores of losses because of bad
administration and lack of forsight at the top level. not even one irrigation dam
or hydel prower station was build or not even thinking in that direction. developments in IT sector
is not going to provide basic facilitiesin the rural areas susch as drinking water and electricity. goverment giving subsidy is nothing but covering up its mismanagement.
you can not privatise everything. the need of hour is action not publicity.
Posted by: Mr Ramireddy Bommireddy At: 1, Jan 2001 1:29:02 AM IST Yes. he is trying. One thing now every body has to remember, Protectionism must go. To start, with Public sector supporting and financing has to go. For example, power sector, how long the governmnet go on supporting and subsidising the Electrcity board? When you will recover what all you have sustituted now? How you will answer your future generations for the burden you are throwing on them. If the electrcity price is to be hiked today, yes you have to do it or you have to improve your systems to control your price. As it not the culture of our Public Sector to think and work in this line, why it shoud not be hand over to some one who could do it efficiently. It is one example Similarly Public Transportation etc. It is high time, it should be turned over to Private sector; if it is not sustaining, let it go, Public exchacquer must not support. This is eating away the funds. The industry is for the state or nation not for the few employees. If it is to be closed or get rid of may be by giving to Private sector the leader must bold and decissive and cut it early. No politics in this.
Yes. Naidu is doing well in the Administartion. He is improving the credibility of the administration. Still the sleeping bureucracy is to be alerted. Now the Public are knowing what is going on and are questioning for any laps and mistakes. The bureaucrats must be made responsible and accountable for the administation, and any laps and frauds must be punished.
Leader should be bold and clear in his thoughts and decisions. Problems will always be there. The roti kapada aur makan slogan is there is ever since the man kind started existing, but the efforts for achieving them are the points to debate. In this direction he is doing some good jobs. Let him do.
Posted by: Mr SV Sivasubrahmaniam At: 17, Dec 2000 2:08:06 PM IST Any poverty related report states AP to be in the top 5. Same with the case in infrastructure.Do we have any real base of infrastructure in the state except the educated people. definetely not seenwhen compared with states like Punjab,Maharashtra and Gujarat. No power cut says the CM and whenever i call my house our cordless get disconnected due to power failure. I dont know where we are going ?So called IT we market more than what we do i feel as when we see the infrastructure in other states are no whereless to us if not better is what comes to mind. but one thing i think we should remember is changes will not come in one day ,though we have a dynamic CM i feel it wouldbe better we concentrate more on our basic improvement in Agro based products and other strengths with IT.but thinking always for a better tomorrow let us wait.....and give our selves what we can do.....
Posted by: Mr Ravindra kumar raju penmethsa At: 29, Nov 2000 11:14:37 AM IST A.P does not need Computers in Mandal offices but mimimum requirements for survival such as drinking water, roads, hospitals & electricity etc in villages which about 40 % of our villages are deprived off. Don't try to imitate Bill gates but imitate social workers like Anna hazare who are constantly working for the development of the poor and needy.
