| hmm can I make one more generelization 3 letter words not ending with a vowel & Y(american vowel) fall in this category , satisying the first condition?
Posted by: Saleem At: 21, Nov 2003 3:42:53 AM IST So we have
beg/begged
ban/banned
bat/batted
hog/hogged
mug/mugged
tag/tagged
lag/lagged
bag/bagged
.......
so all 3-lettered verbs ending with -g +
ban, bat...and
can, etc..
hmmm...this is not really puzzling now, hehe
How about the words that have same number of letters in the past tense other than the words whose past tense is same as simple tense, like beat-beat!

Posted by: Saleem At: 21, Nov 2003 3:18:21 AM IST Alright, lets change the music...yes 'literally' :-)
(These are my own)
1. Find all those verbs whose length of the past tense is double the length of the word, lets see how many we can get.
2. Also find words with the above condition and none of the letters between the two are common.
