Posted by: Hytech At: 6, Nov 2003 3:39:16 AM IST Old Q asked in a different way... kotta seesalo paata saara.. jk
Go to the one local and asks " if i ask other local if i have to take xxx road, which way he will show..." and takes the opposite way.
Posted by: Sreedhar G At: 6, Nov 2003 3:10:24 AM IST Here it is...
(I think this could be a variant of a similar one)
A traveler is driving on a single road when he encounters a fork where the road splits in 2 directions. At the junction there are 2 locals, one who always speaks truth and the other always lies. How can the traveler know which road to take by asking only one question to only of the locals. He does not know which one is which.
Posted by: Hytech At: 6, Nov 2003 2:53:40 AM IST go ahead partha..
Posted by: Sreedhar G At: 6, Nov 2003 2:41:55 AM IST Ok, answer is $1.19, well done Pratap and Jeevi!
I am not sure how many are in? I got couple more, so give your attendance otherwise will save it for tomorrow :-)
Posted by: Hytech At: 6, Nov 2003 2:37:44 AM IST $1.19 (1x50 + 1x25 + 4x10+4x1). If the person has to have atleast one coin of each type then its $0.94. (1x50 + 1x25 + 1x10 + 1x5 + 1x4). But the Q doesn't impose anyrules so answer is $1.19 (Good job Naren).
Posted by: Sreedhar G At: 6, Nov 2003 2:34:05 AM IST Yes Pratap so far! No more takers?
