One day, while a woodcutter was cutting a branch of a tree above a river, his axe fell into the river. When he cried out, the Lord appeared and asked, "Why are you crying?" The woodcutter replied that his axe has fallen into water. The Lord went down into the water and reappeared with a golden axe. "Is this your axe?" the Lord asked. The woodcutter replied,"No." The Lord again went down and came up with a silver axe. "Is this your axe?" the Lord asked. Again, the woodcutter replied, "No." The Lord went down again and came up with an iron axe. "Is this your axe?" the Lord asked. The woodcutter replied, "Yes." The Lord was pleased with the man's honesty and gave him all three axes to keep, and the woodcutter went home happily. OLD STORY ...ISTN'T IT?????? NOW READ THIS ....... One day while he was walking with his wife along the riverbank, the woodcutter's wife fell into the river. When he cried out, the Lord again appeared and asked him, "Why are you crying?" "Oh Lord, my wife has fallen into the water!" The Lord went down into the water and came up with Jennifer Lopez. "Is this your wife?" the Lord asked. "Yes," cried the woodcutter. The Lord was furious. "You cheat! That is an untruth!" The woodcutter replied, "Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a misunderstanding. You see, if I said 'no' to Jennifer Lopez, You will come up with Catherine Zeta-Jones. Then if I also say 'no' to her, You will thirdly come up with my wife, and I will say 'yes,' and then all three will be given to me. But Lord, I am a poor man and I will not be able to take care of all three wives, so that's why I said yes this time." MORAL OF THE STORY: Whenever a man lies it is for an honorable and useful reason.

THE MAYOR OF BHAGDAD- GIVE AND THE GOD SHALL GIVE YOU Long ago there was a beggar in the city of Bhagdad. He used to chant the name of the God all the time .He was not bothered about rain, sun or anything. The passersby used to give him alms. One day a holy man was passing by.He saw the beggar and took pity upon him. That night he prayed to the God.When God appeared he asked God to take pity upon the beggar. He told God that the beggar is chanting your name everyday and if you donot do anything for him people will loose faith on God.In spite of God telling the holy man that the character of the beggar is not good the holy man pleaded on behalf of the beggar. God being a slave of his devottees agreed to the pleas of the holy man and blessed the beggar. In course of time the beggar became the Mayor of Bagdad and he became very rich.He had a place in the inner circle of the King and became a royal diginatary. He started living a comfortable life and forgot his past. After a long time the holy man was one day passing through Bhagdad. On seeing the palace of the Mayor he stopped and requested for alms. The attendent of the Mayor asked the holy man to wait as the Mayor was asleep. However, the cries of the holy man for alms had disturbed the sleep of the Mayor and he came out.On seeing the holy man he enquired .The attendent informed the Mayor that this month being the holy month we have to give a part of what God has given to the poor and needy to earn the blessing of the God. The Mayor asked the attendent how much was given last year? The attendent informed that a sum of one lakh Dinars was given. On knowing it the Mayor became very angry and shouted at the attendent that the attendent did not know the value of money and the trouble he had taken to collect it.The Mayor ordered the holy man to go away and had a big gate put at the entarance of the palace to see that no more persons come for alms. The holy man became sad and wept.He felt that he should not have pleaded to God on the beggar's behalf. One day after a long time he heard the cries for alms on the street of Bhagdad. He found that God had made the Mayor of Bhagdad a beggar again.
