General Forum: Govt. and Politics | Telangana Separates from AP??? | |
| The reason for Telangana's backwardness should be understood from an historical perspective. As a Telanganaite married to an Andhraite, I have seen similar problems elsewhere in AP also.
Telangana was subjugated to inhuman treatment first by the Nizams then by the Telangana leaders. Not a single leader from telangana did anything for the region. They were worried that if people are educated, communication mechanisms introduced, and people made aware of the world, their own power would go. I have seen hundreds of land being grabbed by telangana leaders from poor telangana farmers. They would give loans against land and then take away the lands. Very big names among talangana politicians today also have this background.
Even among coastal andhra there are problems. The general complaint is that only people of a particualr caste have got all the jobs. this is true because that community was the first to go for education and they reaped the benefits first. today that is changing. people from all communities are educated and that advantage to a few will slowly disappear.
This 'first in education' is the reason why all the jobs in AP went to that community initially, then to coastal people. This is ofcourse changing. Almost all my cousins are highly educated and are abroad or in good jobs here. Coming as we do from interior mahboobnagar we in our families all agree that we could leap frog the handicap of a late start, only because we saw the advantage that others had. GO 610 is a non issue for most people. It is relevant only for government jobs. 90% of the jobs are going to be in the private sector.
I do not wish to comment on the separation issue because to me it is a non issue. What matters if that people should start to demand development from their leaders.
The only Telugu PM ever, is from telangana. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME ONE --- JUST 1 ---- THING HE HAS DONE FOR TELANGANA? The only thing he has done is put a 10 Cr a year security system at his ancestral house in manthani, Karimnagar. And he did not bother to even lay a proper road in Manthani.
I can name many more telangana politicians who today are at the forefront of the movement. I can name the money they made in grabbing poor people's land, money from projects etc. These are today Crorepatis.
The only silver lining is that people like Jaipal reddy and some younger educated politicians are not of the same breed.
