Posted by: Saleem At: 27, Nov 2004 2:28:21 PM IST My questions were still conveniently skipped
1. Who visits the victims first, in case of Natural Clamities, be in Earthquakes in Latur, Bhuj or Cyclone in Konaseema?
2. Which group was invited by the Prime Minister of India to particiapte in the Republic Day Parade, in acknowledgement of the services offered during the war?
3. Which organization first started serving the People of Surat, when plague hit the city?
4. Who FIRST fought the Portugese soldiers of Dadra & nagar Haveli in 1954 during Goa liberation?
5. Which Organization was given the responsibilities to Police Delhi and manage Canteens in Sensitive Areas during 1965 war by Lal bahadur shastri?
6. Which Organization treated most of the wounded Jawans of 1971 war?
Such an Organization is called COMMUNAL because of his Hindutwa agenda, then how can the missionaries be called Social Work group when they have a single point agenda - Conversions?

In fact naseeruddinw as never discussed and Sankaracharya is not discussed anymore on this thred .. its now about Christian Missionaries and the Debate is about whether they are doing Social Service or Business :))

Does this make VHP a great social service organization .. and would one be correct if one says
"Agreed VHP is doing this to meet its selfish needs but its still helping the tribals" and How many would buy this argument?
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 27, Nov 2004 1:32:49 PM IST and by the way I'm not asking anyone not to convert and i made it clear atleast 100 times here .. I only took objection to those BROKERS OF CONVERSION being called Social Workers ... I jsut wanted that activity to be called BUSINESS than Social work
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 27, Nov 2004 1:07:09 PM IST why make a huge noise about others changing their religion when you are not willing to do personally do anything about the root cause?

Scroll back and check who made the first noises about missionaries and Teresa...
When u said they were doing great social work I merely contended it ...
A of the Hospitals as I said Even Veerappan reportedly ran a hospital at Kollegal, Karnataka, .. how may Chirstian Missionaries have helped people mor ethan Veerappan Did?
And there are Hundreds of Hospitals run by Hindu Organizations all over India and Hyderabad is not Comp0lete India. if u can talk abotu hyderabad I can talk about the 4th Cross on the 5th lane of some Road at Mangalagoiri where some ayurvedic Hospital gives free medicine lolz
If u look into unofficial records of Vijaya Mary Hospital, u would know the real people behind that hospital and their contrinution to conversions too
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 27, Nov 2004 1:01:52 PM IST In hyderabad, if a poor woman comes to you and asks to be taken to a hospital, will you take to a private hospital and request that they treat her at a low cost?
why does Vijaya Mary Hospital do it? irrespective of whether the poor woman is a christian or not?
Let us accept it. whether for ulterior motives or not, these missionaries are helping the destitute. I have lived in calcutta in the 80's and know that the missionaries of charities accept any destitute woman who is thrown outside their door.
Someone pl tell me the name and address of similar hindu organizations in hyd.
Posted by: Ms. sapna endurthi At: 27, Nov 2004 12:25:30 PM IST agreed they are missionaries of conversion. so what can we do about it? will talking to the dalits and saying" please don't convert" help?
obviously not. no amount of cajoling/threats will help. and if someone wants to convert his religion for a few rupees, who are we to object. he has a right to do waht he wants with his life.
the big question is what are those opposing such conversions willing to do to stop the conversions? what personal sacrifices are they willing to undergo?
why make a huge noise about others changing their religion when you are not willing to do personally do anything about the root cause?
Posted by: Ms. sapna endurthi At: 27, Nov 2004 12:16:04 PM IST Let us accept it - dalits will convert in larger numbers. there is nothing any of can do about it

Who is bothered abotu Voluntary conversions here? If one wants to convert let one convert .. nobody is bothered about it .. the issue was (I'm repeating it for the 100th time I guess) calling those Brokers of Conversion (I mean the Missionaries)Social workers .. hehee

If you are so concerned about dalits converting, why don't you go and marry them. if you are married you make your son/daughter/brother/sister/friend/cousin marry them.
Let us accept it - dalits will convert in larger numbers. there is nothing any of can do about it. it is possible that someday in future there will be a hindu minority india.
only, we won't be there to see it.
