| Dubbing is not required for Malayalees to watch Tamil films.
A Tamilian can't speak Malayalam either understand.
Still Tamil has no link with Samskrutham.

Thank Q for giving your email id here!
Posted by: Mr. Vachaspathi V At: 19, Jul 2004 12:36:17 PM IST What is the argument here? Telugu is not born to Tamil, the Drividian language. That is for sure. Telugu is richer than Tamil where as Tamil is still a primitive language. No growth, no evolution. It is same as million years ago.
Was Telugu born to Sanskrit? Well, I am not sure, after reading several postings here. But Telugu does have some greatness as that of Sanskrit. Tirupati Venkata kavulu tried to perform "Sataavadhaanam" in Tamil but failed. That language have got several restrictions.
I have been hearing that "Chandassu, alankArAlu bhAshAbhivRudhdhiki SrunkhalAlu" by some modern poets, but nirAlankAriyaina bhAsha baTTalu lEni ADadAnivanTidi ani nA abhiprAyamu. Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 15, Jul 2004 6:13:28 PM IST Mr. Saleem,
And about Sri. Paalkoori Somana, unfortunately I am not familiar with his work. However, I do know that he was the author of "vRShAdhipa Shatakam". Now if Sanskrit was so oppressing him and he was "revolting", one wonders why he chose to name his work "vRShadhipa Shatakam" - vRsha(S)+Adhipa(S) Shatakam(S) - All Sanskrit words once again!!
Also, as you claim, he was the author of "panditaaradhya charitra" and "basavapuranam" - pandita(S)+aradhya(S) charitra(S); basavapuranam(S) - Still all sanskrit!!
Now I am really curious - please enlighten us as to how this Sanskrit oppression was valiantly fought by heroes of yore (as you perhaps do now).
The way most telugus look at it, Sanskrit is a key part of our heritage. Could you please explain your severe antipathy towards Sanskrit?
Now I am all for good pure telugu but to try to try to find "Telugu" devoid of Sanskrit and to believe that Sanskrit is some kind of foreign oppression is a dangerous chauvinistic idea found among Tamil Dravidianists - NOT Andhras.
Posted by: Mr. Aditya Vedula At: 14, Jul 2004 1:14:40 AM IST Mr. Saleem,
As for your claim to be able to give "loads of linguistic references", I will take one quote used by you. I am marking all of the Sanskrit words with (S)in the sentence quoted by you and those of non-sanskrit origin as (T) or as (S+T) where it is a telugu variation of a Sanskrit word:
Yavat(S) + nibiDa(T) + Andhra (S+T) + loaka (S) + mukha (S) + bhaashitamai (S+T) + Sruti(S) saevamaanya(S) jeevana(S) + navaneetam(S) tenugu(T) paala(T) samudramu(S) pukkilinchenae (T)
If the above statement is supposed to be criticism of "Sanskrit oppression", I could only find 3 pure telugu words in the entire sentence!! The entire sentence is strung with Sanskrit!!
Please don't bother posting "loads of linguistic references" - I can already see how good your arguments are based on the above quote :)
Tell me, why are you so set on proving that Sanskrit is oppressive?
