| Well, I am not talking abt celebrations, CC. Like how there is sale at Thanks Giving here in US, there is sale in India too for Dasara, Deepaawali, Sankranthi and other festivals and seasons. You get stuff at very decent prices and good discounts.

Need not be called TiVo but DVR is available in higher end TVs in India.

Why? We used to set the recording time for mahabharatam in the morning and happily return home later in the evening. I agree that there wasn't any 'in-built hard disk' those days and it was all external tapes we used but still the major point "not to be in front of the TV to record" was served. The only problem was that the TV had to be switched on all the time.

I believe both meant "to record a program when you cannot watch it live and to view it later". no?/
