| next question :
a king has "N" bottles of wine in which one is poisoned....but dont know hwich one is that....
he calls some people to test which bottle is poisoned.....
like that,how many LEAST men were required to find out the poisonous one?

its ( x^3 - x ) not ( x^3 - 1) and the rest follows as u said..... (x-1)(x)(x+1).....product of three consecutive integers...
the prdouct of r consecutive integers is always divisible by r! (factorial...)
in the above case r = 3....hence prdocut divisible by 3! = 6
but the number of rooms should be atleast two....cant be a single room......

Yes ..fair division is possible..
Consider number of rooms=X ..then number of boxes = X with X number of golden coins in it..SO total number of coins = X to the power of 3.
One box given to barber..X p.o 3 - 1...which will be x(x-1)(x+1) ..these will be 3 consecutive numbers ..that means out of these no.s one no. is always div. by 3 and atleast one is even..
So here u go!!!
