This is fron the News Agency ENS: -------------------------------- MIM muscle-men rough up Niloufer docs Monday December 3 2007 07:52 IST ENS HYDERABAD: The Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen’s (MIM) muscle-men led by Karwan MLA Afsar Khan are at it again. The same set of people, who had attacked Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen not so long ago, reportedly manhandled nearly a dozen doctors of the Niloufer Hospital, abused them in unprintable language and threatened to burn them alive on Sunday. The doctors have gone on a flash strike demanding the legislator’s disqualification. Two infants died and the condition of two more turned critical in the hospital soon after the doctors struck work. Trouble began around 11.30 a.m after an MIM worker, Junaid Khan, said to be a relative of the Karwan MLA, admitted his one-year-old daughter, Maleha Khatoon, who was suffering from a respiratory disorder, to the hospital. Junaid took offence when Dr Praveen Chanda asked him to fetch the case-sheet and picked up an argument with the doctor and the staff. In the ensuing scuffle, he allegedly roughed up Dr Chanda and his colleagues. The doctors pushed him out, locked the ward from within and began treating his daughter. But Junaid, in a fit of rage, kept banging the door and finally, left in a huff taking his daughter with him to a private hospital at Boggulkunta. Unconfirmed reports said Asifnagar MLA Moazam Khan also went to the hospital and had a verbal duel with the doctors. Dr Chanda lodged a complaint with the Nampally police, who arrested Junaid. The fracas did not end there. The Karwan MLA, along with three dozen supporters, visited the Nampally police ‘to sort out the matter’. Inspector M Narayana advised him to settle the issue with the doctors amicably. But he headed straight to the Niloufer Resident Medical Officer’s chamber and picked up an argument with him, accusing his colleagues of delaying treatment to Junaid’s daughter. His supporters, in the meantime, reportedly went berserk, beating up several PG doctors. “The MLA and his supporters were pressurising the RMO and demanded that the PG doctors withdraw the case. They used abusive language against the doctors and assaulted them,” Hospital Superintendent Dr Narasimha Rao told this website's newspaper . “Assaulting doctors and staff has become a routine affair. We are boycotting all services, including emergency, in protest,” G Raju, Junior Doctors’ Association President told reporters. The police registered cases against the MLA and his followers under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (assault) 353 (assault), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (words or gesticulations to insult the modesty of women) of the IPC. The police also arrested the MLA and his followers and later released them on bail, prompting hundreds of junior doctors to take to the streets. They burnt the MLA in effigy and late in the night, proceeded towards the Assembly but were chased away by the cops. The police also registered a case against doctors under Section 143 of the IPC for unlawful assembly

One news does not contradict the other right? If you read te fine print - somne news papers dont disclose all the details and that leads to the confusion. Even yahoo and MSN published the news item and my facts are based on the sources on both sides.

Posted by: chitti At: 7, Dec 2007 11:28:26 PM IST _____________________________________________ Other news papers (including the Urdu daily Siasat reported the turn of events) .. The story goes on like this .. Juniad took his daughter for treatment at Niloufer and there was a delay in the treatment as usual. This guy got irritated and started abusing the people - so far sao good - But then demanded that his daughter should be given priority over the others .. The doctors refused to do so but however provided a bed for the girl. When this guy wanted to be next to her the doctors said No and pushed him out of the room for Medical reasons because hse was under treatment. He started banging the door and finally got his daughter back and took her to a private hospital ..but during the course he assualted a few staff members. The Doctos filed a case about this and Junaid was arrested. Afsar came to the hospital to ask the Doctors to withdraw the case and the Docs refused. This guy started asaulting hte doctors and dragged the lady docs by their hair and threatened to burn them. The rest is history!
