Posted by: Hytech At: 11, Sep 2003 2:40:19 AM IST i thought of this ..but aa conversion ippudu endukule ani ... and then got that simple idea ..so adi post chesaa ..aaa psch :)
any way cool one :) ippudu test cheyyalante malli baddakam ..
Posted by: Ravi At: 10, Sep 2003 11:03:39 PM IST well tried all of u........
actual gaa ee question maa friend nannu morning adigaadu......its framed by himself,naa kosam adigaadu........i tried to tell many things as u ppl guessed........but in vain..........but i was very much impressed by his answer.....
nenu cheppinavi yententante....
100,10,001,01
121,11,121,11
144,12,441,21
169,13,961,31
reverse lo koodaa squares and that too the square roots are also exactly reversed
and
10 - 1+0 = 1
100- 1+0+) = 1
11 - 1+1 = 2
121 - 1+2+1 = 4
12 - 1+2=3
144 - 1+2 = 3
13 - 1+3 = 4
169 = 1+6+9 = 16
the sum of the digits in the square number is the square of the sum of the digits in the square ROOT.......
but none of these were happenning in the number 196
these all conditions r ok but they doesnt perfectly satisfy the naswer naa.......
the correct answer is that......
most common thing,offcourse,its not a mistake is that
we always look only in the decimal system....
observe that the numbers 100,121,144,169 are all perfect squares in any base system.......
but 196 is perfect sqaure only in decimal system.....
u can easily chack that.....
i liked his answer very much......

Aina aa matram entertainment undalile :-)
I still remember the australian desert, food, kangaroos and public storage episode we had long time back! :-)
Posted by: Hytech At: 10, Sep 2003 9:59:36 PM IST 10 = 100 = 1 0*2 0^2
11 = 121 = 1 1*2 1^2
12 = 144 = 1 2*2 2^2
13 = 169 = 1 3*2 3^2
all the last digits are perfect sqares and and second digits are multiples of 2.
14 = 196 = is not following this order ..
I looked at the answers first then later Question.. good answers partha and ravi :)
Posted by: Sreedhar G At: 10, Sep 2003 9:51:53 PM IST woaa ..parthaa ..Hats off :)
Posted by: Ravi At: 10, Sep 2003 9:32:52 PM IST if you add the numbers that they hav said
100 - 1+0+0 = 1
121 - 1+2+1 = 4
144 - 1+4+4 = 9
169 - 1+6+9 = 16
196 - 1+9+6 = 16
they are all perfect squares too ..but 5th one copy kottadani ..champessaaru ..aa planet lo exam evaluation koncham strict :)
