2 power 30 = 1073741824
2 power 31 = 2147483648
and so my answer is 2147483647 cents...
whats wrong in it??

But u have to add total earnings ..
Like..1+2+4+ .....+ 2147483647 cents.
Nice deal ..taking 1 cent on first day and getting millionaire by month end..

Answer to this puzzle..
You talk your board of education into an agreement where you earn 1 cent the first day, 2 cents the second day, 4 cents the third day, 8 cents the fourth day, and continually double each day thereafter. How much would you earn at the end of 31 working days?

River-Cross puzzle:
There are 8 persons including a mother, a father, with their 2 sons,2 daughters, a policeman and a thief. you have to bring them across the river in a boat with these conditions !!
1. Only two persons max can be in the boat any time.
2. Only father, mother and the policeman can control the boat.
3. When the policeman is not around, the thief will harm the family.
4. When the mother is not around, the father will beat the daughters.
5. When the father is not around, the mother will beat the sons.
