General Forum: Religion | the relevence of religion now a days | |
| Mrs.Vijaya! Namaste! As you mentioned the spirituality is there in everyone but in dorment state due to moulding and grooming as well as previous samskaras. So what I mean by my statement is that really people become spiritual only when they stop to look for external means ,neglecting the most important spiritual aspect which is dorment stage in everyone, and religion helps one to realise this internal means and one becomes introvert once he turns towards self and only if the religious practises help one towards this condition then there is no further need of religion at all from that stage.

Religion leads a person towards God and once the man realises the importance of god he loses interest in the material things and turns towards spirit. Thus religion ends where spirituality begins and spirituality too ends where realisation starts .Your understanding is correct Mr. Venu!
Mr. Madhukumar! The majority that goes to temple are those who do not know how to have
God but feel solace in the presence of the idol which is purely temporary and hence visit the temple again and again ,but once they learn that Spiritual practise is the only means to reach him and remain
with him permanently
then only the transformation process starts
Posted by: Mr. jogarao pilla At: 30, Oct 2003 8:18:34 AM IST what about dacoits and gangsters ?Even, they do religious things that doesn't mean one can credit everything for them. Religion cant keep personal attractions away or their needs. Goes to temple in the morning prays the God with both the hands and the same hands accepts bribe. So, a man has to lives one real the other spiritual?
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 29, Oct 2003 2:22:08 PM IST /Religion helps to mould a person out of a beast but religion ends when realisation begins and realisation too ends when the realised soul starts swimming in the endless ocean of bliss./
Jogarao garu, I understand this as under:
Religion puts a man in spiritual discipline and makes him wise and puts him Godwards. Once he turns Godwards truely he starts realsing Self i.e. God himself. Once that realisation starts he no longer needs religion, so religion ends there for him. Finally when the Self merges with Supreme Self i.e. God Himself he becomes One with God, the endless ocean of bliss.
I shall be thankful if Mr. Jogarao corrects me if there is any miss or less understanding on my part.
