General Forum: Life in USA | Will the demand for Indian Software Professionals in USA continue? | |
| No I don't think it continues
Posted by: Mr. Shiva Kumar Kouda At: 12, Feb 2002 7:43:22 PM IST Hi All
well the demand for Indian professionals will be definatly there , and there are tons of reasons for that . when u compare grasping skills and communication skills of indians with other people like chineses and others we are better . and i feel no one is born programmer and when a high school drop out guy can become CEO of biggest company in the world then why can't a normal Tom & Harry become good IT professionals . well i'm supporting anything but i feel IT is such a field where ability to think and grasp are required not degrees .
however i'm not contraducting with others opnion but i feel the demand for IT professionals will be there as in US nearly 60% of the students stop there education at High School level and in the 40% most of them goto researching and others so hardly 20% of US students turn into IT professionals but the requirement is very high than that .
The good thing about recent job market is it's stable . i mean even if it's not going up wards but the good sign it's also not going down wards .....which is good sign .
however these are my ideas and i may be wrong so comments are invited
Posted by: Mr Ravi M At: 7, Feb 2002 0:09:16 AM IST The 'get trained and fly' scene will definitely change now. Not all the graduates, who definitely lack the basic concenpts in any language, as a matter of fact, the computer basics, will not be able to get jobs as they've got in past. This makes the real skilled people to get the jobs, this time, the real bin ones. Actually, we in India spoiled the scene, every Tom & Harry(I knew a couple of Police Constables flew to USA with fake ones)stepped into some institute, completed the course and flew, thus spoiling our image. This will not be entertained any more!
Wish the market returns to "NORMAL".
We should know the difference between "vaapu" and "balupu".
Posted by: Durga Prasad At: 6, Feb 2002 8:36:17 PM IST recruiting of foreign workers by any country is mainly propelled by factors.
1.lack of skilled workers for the specific task.
2.high cost of available workers.
3.Industry driven demand.
The day the US goverment makes a firm policy to see that factor 1 is successfully tackled by eduacting their people in the specific areas, increase their numbers quantitatively(demand/suppy ratio thereby cutting down on high wages) and reduce the monopoly of industries... the demand for foreign workers will go down irrespective of their origin. But till then things will continue to be the same if not in software in some other profession/occupation.

Posted by: Mr PRAVASANDHRA.COM CHILIPI At: 22, Aug 2001 0:15:53 AM IST yes, demand for indian engineers is great in US as americans wouldn't have much enough brains to do that.
and in US also one intelligent indian engineers's work will be finished by 4 indian filthy engineers. so calculate howmany more engineers do them US people need!!
Posted by: Mr CHINTALA PUDI PHANI At: 12, Jul 2001 10:21:41 PM IST I do think that the Indian companies can get orders for off shore development and maintenance, that will be cost effective for the US companies and lucrative for the Indian companies.
Posted by: Mr Narasimha Rao Dulla At: 24, Feb 2001 0:15:31 AM IST The demand for Indian software experts to work abroad will decline steadily over the next five years I think...however, our software companies may get more business not only from the US but also from Europe...with any bit of luck!...wait and see...
