Are Software companies hiring the right people for the right jobs ?

I think people are drifting away from the topic. Well,Durga Prasad garu, I am very well placed today in one of the best IT companies in the world. Getting a job is not the problem. But when it nvolves so many politics and unnecessary "scene" as u can informally call it , it becomes a problem. Probably its not only putting in Efforts.... There has to be complete coordination too.On part of the company in terms of honest recruitment.And on part of the candidate in terms of deserving inputs.If its a one sided thing, we can never get away being succesful.Ain't i right ? And Sankar garu, its not that other universities are lesser than IIt's or IISC's. Some people are privileged enough to study there and some are not. Atleast I am happy that if not those cream of universities, I still am a graduate of a great university and talented enough to get a unoversity rank.

Well, its not true(atleast always) in Software side. No company can dare to take all junk guys. At max some 10% can be junk. Answer to your question in first line, God made it like that. Deserving and talented people can anyway get a job. But those junk guys can't. So, God easened their task to live a life! hahahah... To be frank, I have no answer. Its so sad to hear about you, being an Univ Ranker. There should be something going wrong in your efforts. To be successful, you need to : put your full efforts(Efforts) at right time(Timing) with the right power(Skill) in the right way(Approach). I understood from your first posting that you should be a candidate with high %ages, as you mentioned only companies like TCS, Infy. There is another company called CTS who wants only 70% and above candidates. I can't really enter into these companies as I got only 58% but a successful person. I knew that my life is going to be tough due to my %ages, hence, started looking at the companies who can give me around 2kpm. And I started like that. Now ... into this position. I grew up gradually. So, if you are a ranker and not having a job from past few years, then there is certainly wrong in your approach. There can be a good solution for your problem. Ya D.P. garu, What u said is right but why is it so that always talented people come up the hard way and not so deserving candidates always have easy ways to go. For instance take up the walk ins and various campus recruitments. Its not just the marks that matter always right. I am a university ranker myself and havent had a job for a long time after studies. Its always that jobs are already set aside and for show sake they say we got 10,000 candidates to write the exam.

Hello, For that matter, the work itself is so lousy now a days, that a right guy is not doing the right work, in his job. He may be a Tech Lead, but working on a junk technology for a just application for a big company who is having a big client!!! So, it doesn't really matter that these influenced people get into companies and do some junk work. A person who is having real worth will get a right job(means, for a right salary) always. cheers.

I feel that nowadays jobs itself as it is are scarce. You find lots of petty jobs but good jobs are hard to find. Mind that I am talking about only the software industry. We find that thousands apply every time TCS or Infosys or Satyam post their requirements but it so happens that only tens of them are selected.. We often find taht selection is harped with influences,references and partiality. Has anyone experienced such a thing in life ? And if yes, please post your views.. I too have a lot to share on this topic.
