I understand how and what you are feeling. Let me explain more in detail even though I don't have experience...I do think a lot about human behaviour.
Suppose if a relation is 1-5 year old and if she/he does cheat...I think it is better to walk away. Suppose if it has happened after 5 years of marriage....we got to see what's wrong. Either he/she is not making him/her happy. That can be also of his/her incompetence. But do you want to blow away a 5+ years relation right away ? Everybody does mistakes and that's human nature. As I said before if she/he realises his/her mistakes then there is nothing greater than that. But if it continues then I pray for him/her and it is better to walkaway in those matters. You get into a bond with your partner after a while and it is hard to break off. I know it sucks in our minds.
Breaking is always easy but mending together is tough.

Sometimes it does matter. Everybody does mistakes. Some do and realise it soon and some think there is nothing wrong in it and continue to do so.
I think one who realises his/her mistake quickly enough should be pardoned and need to discuss why and what made her/him to act that way.
Ofcourse, there is no guarantee that she/he won't do it again and also sometimes some people take advantage of her/his weaknesses.
Yes, there are that kind of people too who are still going on with their lives.
It does suck very badly.

As per my thinking...
Trust and Commitment are the basic elements in a marriage and cheating ignores/neglects those important things which in other words describes that the basic foundation is broken, so there is no forgiveness at any point.
walking out is what ones does but before that the person who has cheated should be held accountable and be realised what he/she had done so that the same thing wouldnt happen to the next person in coming his/her life.
At the same time if the acussed is regreating for the acts and is truely willing to change can be given a chance.
When it comes to children yea they r to be taken into consideration before walkign out and it totally depends on a person wether to compromise for children sake or so on...

You know there is a minor injury and a major injury. Now do you want me to classify those two for you ?
Serious, I mean how long she has been cheating on him/her. If it has been going on since long time then I consider that is serious and it is better to walk away.
