| Recently I was in a Barista Coffee Outlet in Hyderabad and heard an interesting discussion among a group of girls, all of them non-telugus.
The girls were discussing about eligible Telugu boys and how to "patao" them. Apparently there are two groups of girls involved - tamil iyers and north indians.
The target for both groups are "rich Reddy boys" or "highly educated guys in very good jobs". Other iyer girls, who are already married to telugus, act as a source of information. they identify the right boys and pass on the data to the other girls. the usual places like pubs, restaurants, discos are the places to 'catch' them. these girls then observe the likes/dislikes of the boy and then start their wooing process. they dress/talk in a manner that makes the boy interested. they read up about his favorite subjects, movies, actors, books etc. the married gang makes efforts to get them invited to parties and other social gatherings.
The north indian method is slightly different. They don;t operate in such an organized group, but do almost the same things individually.
And the poor (rich!!)boy falls for them. And the cycle continues.
I was very very surprised to hear some of the names of the guys already 'pataoed'. Next time I meet some of these girls, atleast i know i cannot speak to them in telugu, but in tamil.
Look around you and see how many bright , smart, well-educated, Telugu boys have been wooed by Tamil girls. I wonder why the Tamil Iyer boys never marry telugu girls. Infact they look down upon telugu girls as worthless.
Also discussed in that get together, was about telugu girls. The universal thing I heard is that many telugu girls are now being exploited by North Indian boys. Apparently ,their fair skin and looks is helping them to get gilrs from some well known colleges . They befriend the girls, use them and ditch them.
Come'on Telugu girls, see around you and learn. Have you seen a single North Indian/ Iyer boy marry a telugu girl?
