Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 8, Feb 2005 4:00:59 PM IST I support sending troops to nepal.
It is time to stand India tall in South Asea. neighbouring countris should feel safe because of India. And Rebels should have fear about India, that if they want to destabilize any Govt, we will get beatings from India.
India palnned to establish talks with eastern states. The moists (with china influesnce) took this as lean and tried to destibilize the Nepal. No one wants (india, China and US) wants the some one should be on the head (Nepal) of others. Strategically Nepal is the strongest place in south Asia 1) tourisam 2) Milatry point( hieght 3) Afghan and Nepal or the good links to others south asian nations.
Posted by: Mr. Nagesh Babu Adari At: 8, Feb 2005 9:13:15 AM IST I think we should continue the aid .. but I woudl say a NO to a direct army involvement. I dont think we should risk the lives of our soldiers (May be using Sukoi and Mirage fighter jets is a better option, with blanket bombing)
In case we stop the aid, there is always a possibility that US would to use this as an opportunity to Enter Nepal or China would like to Pre-empt the US initiative by sending PLA ahead of Americans ------ either of which poses a great danger to India.
All is left to Manmohan's wisdom and I just hope the clowns like Harkishen Singh Surgeets dont poke their Pagdis ( Their noses are already busy and bleeding too) into this issue in support of China
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 7, Feb 2005 6:33:36 PM IST The world may ignore the recent developments in Nepal, but can India afford such indifference? Shocked by the royal coup and the trials to suppress the political activities, Nepal's politicians and activists are heading for India.
While the arrival of political activists from Nepal may just be another headache, India dreads the prospect of Maoist takeover in Nepal.
In the past few years, India has provided huge amounts of military aid to Nepal in the hope that the RNA becomes strong enough to combat the rebels who now control most of the 75 districts in Nepal.
But to continue with the military aid, will invite accusations of supporting the King's takeover. And if the aid is cut off, it will mean an indirect help to the Maoists.
Can India be indifferent to the crisis in Nepal? What should be its stand?
