General Forum: Current 'Affairs'
Would Vijayashanti be able to infuse a new lease of life into the five-decade-old Telangana seperate statehood issue which was betrayed by many leaders in the past?

I feel that Vengalrao & NTR did not see Telangana as a 'segment', but as an integral part of AP. If you think that that thinking is wrong, I cannot help it. If they have favoured Telangana more at the cost of the other two regions, they would have invited the wrath of those regions. Is it not? I did not mean the Urdu people. Atleast in sixties & seventies, most of the Urdu people preferred United AP only. (Their 'today's preference' -- I do not know.) I had persons like Badri Vishal Pitty, Mallikarjun etc. ( of those days) in mind when I wrote the word 'non-telugus'. I faintly remember some articles written by some people interested only in the integrated AP state, in magazines like aaMdhra sachitra vaarapatrika, entitled 'amaayaka aaMdhrulanE gorrela madhya anaaMdhrulanE tODELLa guMpu' etc.

Personalities like 'Boorgula' are 'statesmen', as they had clear vision for the welfare of all the people. They are not just 'political' leaders/politicians such as Chennareddy & KCR. Please try to recollect the World Telugu conference conducted by Vengala Rao as well as his 'zonalisation' of districts without giving room to fissiparous tendencies. NTR, in spite of his idiosyncrasies/ peculiarities, saw to it that the word 'Telugu' has a place in the national scene, apart from getting a 'Telugu fragrance' to the capital of Telugus. ((While I was a student in the OU Engineering College in late sixties, even talking in Telugu was an 'odd' thing (taboo!) in the campus)). Then, AP Bhavan has a 'place of pride' in New Delhi, for which NTR's contribution as well as Naidu's contribution had been very significant. I too share your opinion that if 'Separate Telangana' is a real movement, let it take a proper shape in a proper way under proper leadership, sans politicians like Chennareddy (due to whose movement many innocent people were dead), and KCR (who remembered his Telangana 'maata' only when he was denied a ministerial berth). Well-wishers of a region need not be born in that region necessarily. Karunanidhi's ancestors were from Andhra. MGR's roots were in Kerala. Jayalalithaa is supposed to be a born Kannadiga, but she never talked in favour of Karnataka! If you talk of non-telugu Hyderabad-based leaders, most of them feel happy if Telugu loses its prominence in one way or the other. (Please remember that the 1969 Telangana movement was spearheaded predominantly by non-telugu leaders, with the exception of Chennareddy & co, who joined that 'movement' later.) Who am I to enlighten others? After all, I am sharing my feelings and opinion with many others. These feelings can be subjective and confined to me alone. That is all what I can say on this topic. Thank you.

Demand for separate statehood was there from all regions, but complications were iminimum. There was no 'induced & short-lived' bitterness. There were no frequent 'volte faces' by leaders. In case of Telangana, we have seen and experienced the 'fruits' of 1969 Separate Telangana & 1973 Separate Andhra agitations. Mr. Jalagam Vengala Rao was one sincere leader who really tried to sort out the emotional issues with wisdom. Then, NTR did more significant things. All the past as well as present Telangana leaders were/are disgruntled politicians. (This fact need not be explained.) Do not you think that a real movement by people will last long in spite of the leaders' betrayal from time to time? Do not you think that the present separate Telangana leaders will join one party or other overtly or covertly after some more days? Then, where will be their leadership and where will be the 'injustice by one region' on the 'other region'? My personal view is that if a separate state has to be formed, there is nothing wrong in that. What I mean is that it can be done without any bitterness on either side.

With KCR, Narendra, plus Vijayashanti...Telengana will not be achieved. Their mass base has already shattered. You all just wait and watch. The more they shout, the more they loose !!

She joined politics after loosing image in film industry. Just because an actress can she influence the state to move forward for a separate Telangana ????? I don't know howmuch following she has? BJP taking stake by having over confidence in Ms. Vijaya Shanti. If she does no doubt she will be the CM.

Already, she is also a betrayer. She will be one more 'nuisance value' leader regarding this '50 year-old' Telangana issue. Strictly speaking, it is a non-issue. Telangana can be formed due to administrative reasons as in the case of Jarkhand or Chattisgadh, but not on an emotional issue as in the case of Vidarbha. As usual, the Congress party had been the real beneficiary whenever this issue was raised. This time it helped the Congress to come to power at the Centre too, as the TRS formation gave wrong signals to the Telangana, Rayalaseema as well as coastal region voters in different ways. It led to a politically disastrous confusion which added to the anti-incumbency factor, and both of them paved way for the formation of Congress govt. at the Centre too. I blame only the gullible voters for their 'cleverness', which landed them into this confusion once again. Afterall, fire is a fire whether you touch it knowingly or unknowingly!

A few months ago I had the pleasant opportunity of interacting with you in connection with your interest in purchasing a plot in Hyderabad. Months have rolled by and the prices of land in Hyderabad despite turbulations has only gone up. All apprehensions politically, industrially, progressively have died down. Since you have been in the know of things through the media and through your friends and relatives, you are a better judge as far as Hyderabad is concerned. In this context I am pleased to inform you that we have now a new Venture approved by Panchayath coming up on the No.1 State Express Highway, which is exactly 7 KM from HITECH City. There are numerous number of resorts/clubs/spiritual organizations around our new lay out by name ‘Mathrusri Nagar’. Being Panchayath approved, all amenities as per HUDA norms such as Tar Roads, Under ground drainage, water, Electricity, full compound wall, green plantations all round are being provided. The land mark for the lay out is as under. CLOSE TO MANIKONDA IT Corridor Microsoft,Polaris,Wipro,Infosys,IMG sports academy,ISB,IIIT,CMC and APIIC LTD's IT park. Bookings have commenced. Already a few employees of an IT firm have taken one block as such. The price too is relatively very low as of now being Rs.3500/Sq.Yd. You will soon find the price here escalating to Rs.5000/Sq.Yd. Bank loans are available. As a future investment/ settlement, this place is most ideal. Being on the main road, it is easily accessible. We will arrange for site inspection. I shall most appreciate if you can let me know your interests. Awaiting your reply. With all good wishes and regards, sincerely,Rameshbabu Gorantla,B.Tech, Phone: 9392429858.
