General Forum: Current 'Affairs' | Denying Kanchi Sankaracharya into sanctum sanctorum of Lord Ramanathaswamy temple in Rameshwaram is Politically motivated. | |
| On the day of his arrest, I already told in this site only that this is a great instult to the Hinduism, not a particular person. The same government allowed a person who swallowed crores of rupees, to occupy the Chief Minister's chair.

U know he cannot take that kind of risk. He does not want to look for other job at that age. Unfortunately , they cannot secure other kind of jobs as well.

proved beyond doubt that the police machinery in India is shamelessly subservient to the politicians. Now, it is the turn of some 'obliging' priests too!
Posted by: SATYA RAMA PRASAD KALLURI At: 17, Jul 2005 9:42:06 PM IST We tell the entire world that we are the largest democracy and boast. While one of the main seers itself cannot go inside a temple, What a pity?
Posted by: DoBoy At: 17, Jul 2005 6:36:36 PM IST It's a fight among so called self-styled protectors of Hinduism...THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO DENY HIS ENTRY.
Posted by: Mr. Vachaspathi V At: 17, Jul 2005 6:08:15 PM IST Government intervention into religious affairs and giving directions not to allow the temple administration do its formalities in welcoming seer/s in kanchi revered by many is nothing but a slap on the face of Sri Jayendra Saraswati in particular and hindus in general. It was a decision in haste. Now, until the guilt is proved, he should be treated on par with others, if not better. This was unwarranted.
Posted by: DoBoy At: 17, Jul 2005 11:45:34 AM IST Kanchi Sankaracharya Sri Jayendra Saraswati was refused entry into sanctum sanctorum of Lord Ramanathaswamy temple in Rameshwaram on Thursday. The temple official told the seer that Commissioner of HR and CE (Hindu Charitable and Religious Endowments), which administer temples, had given instructions not to allow him inside. In what is termed as a 'deliberate delaying tactics' of the Endowments Commissioner in not granting permission, resulted in the seer not entering the temple or performing poojas on Friday also. Kanchi swamy who is charge sheeted in Sankaraman's murder case should not be treated as a criminal as the case is still being investigated. Do you agree with this argument? Discuss.
