General Forum: Current 'Affairs' | IS TIRUMALA GOING TO BE NEW CONSTITUENCY? | |
| Subbarami Reddy is not the sole custodian of Hinduism. He happens to be there because Congress-I' stars are favourable. As he is one of the stalwarts of Congress-I, the damage is likely to be more. Besides, a lot of controversial & retrograde steps have already been taken under his able leadership.
The main party supporting the Congress-I is 'secularist', plus 'hindu-hating', plus 'minority-embracing'. There lies the real danger.
Posted by: SATYA RAMA PRASAD KALLURI At: 31, Jul 2005 3:26:37 PM IST Mr.T.Subbi Rami Reddy has his job cut out. It will be an acid test for him on this. Hinduism may not have much funds. But ,TTD for sure has much, but how can it be useful in this context has to be watched
Posted by: DoBoy At: 31, Jul 2005 2:02:48 PM IST You can expect many more achievements from the Central-State Government combination, both of Congress-I. In fact, it will gain momentum, unless checked in time.
Indirect blessing of these governments are always there for such
'co(n)vert' activities in the name of secularism.
Even in 1970s, they used to post christian postmasters in religious places like Srisailam Project etc. These we cannot call as a 'chance' & 'random' events!
Unfortunately, religions other than Hinduism have plenty of 'funds'. Hinduism cannot compete with them & hence has to suffer silently.

No politics at Tirumala: BJS
Chittoor, July 26: The State Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader, Dr. B.K. Ramana Reddy said that a representation was submitted to the State Election Commissioner demanding that Tirumala be not accorded Assembly constituency status owing to political pressure. “Some vested forces are trying to establish their illegal activities at Tirumala by converting it into a new Assembly constituency. The Bharatiya Jana Sangh will seriously oppose the move. Our concern is to pr-otect religious harmony and piety of the temple,” he added.
The BJS organised a siege of district Collectorate a couple of days ago protesting against the move to reorganise Tirmala as a new constituency. Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Dr. Ram-ana Reddy said that the government was contemplating to constitute Tirumala as a new assembly constituency as part of the delimitation of Assembly constituencies. He made it clear that Tirumala was strictly meant for Hindu devotees.
“It is unfortunate that the TTD is silent when there is a serious proposal to construct a church at Tirumala by Christians. It is statutory on the part of the TTD to oppose the move to convert Tirumala into an Assembly constituency,” he added. He said that the BJS would never allow the encroachment of Christians at Tirumala. He appealed to the TTD to keep a special watch on the criminalisation of politics at Tirumala. District BJS leaders Messrs D.A. Nagaraju, K. Madhavan, and others were present.
