General Forum: Help Line | A poor medico (of SV Medical College) needs financial help | |
| Hello Vaishnavi garu and Sneha garu,
Thank you very much for the gesture. Please hold on. Do not send money now. Just announce it. Once we contact the person and the professors there and are sure that the guy is genuine, we will help him financially for his academic needs.
By the way, Subrahmanyam Mula also offered to contribute to this guy.
I request other members also to come forward with your contributions.
I think the yearly fee for Medicos is Rs. 25000 (I am not sure)and I do not know about the estimates for books.
I will ring to Viplove this evening.
with regards,
Prasanthi.

Hi All:
Looks like genuine case needing help. Can someone please find out exact details.
Looks like he is somehow managing for most part of first year. But I think if we can pool some money and deposit in some bank account, he can forget about financial worries and concentrate on studies.
According to Eenadu online edition of August 3rd,2005, story goes like this :
--------------------------------------------
Name: Venkata Ramanaiah
Native Place: Vengala Rao nagar, Nellore
Father: Subrahmanyam
Because of Polio at younger age , he became physically handicapped.Father is a Riksha Puller. His mother expired while he
was taking Inter Public Examinations.Passed 10th, inter in first class. He carried his education untill now with the money he earned by teacing tuitions.
He scored 36,902 in EMCET and got admission into SVU medical college under physically handicapped and reservation quota.
He went to EAMCET counselling just with bus fares, without any admission fee. One of the professors present at counselling helped by by contributing 3500 and another 1000 from another professor.
He was able to pay with that amount. He need another 5000 for admission to hostel. He gathered that amount from his contacts in Nellore. He still money for his books, clothes and other stuff need for labs etc. and he is worried about his fee/expenses for rest of his course period.
--------------------------------------------
Lets look into this and lets do whatever we can.
Chandra
