| Where was these activists when Salman Rushdie's 'Satanic Verses' was banned? He was a writer too? Almost all of these guys supported the ban then and when the fire spreads to their own backyard then they remember words like Democracy, Socialism etc .. eh?
Naxals are using the backwardness of Tribals, by making them thier human shields and the Govt is using middle class .. Big Deal?
Only the Naxals dont have patent rights to fool people .. Even the Govt can do it..

After more than one year, Congress is back to square one. Not just to square one, but they went back by 2 decades in terms of controlling Naxalites.

Situation at present is very volatile and one can't expect peace atleast for coming 4 years.

I don't blame Naxalaties for this. Only Congress and YSR are totally responsible for this. While offering peace to people, Congress / YSR proposed unconditional talks with Naxalites. All of a sudden, they laid down conditions of no arms.

Congress / YSR were only to fool people and to show off their peace initiatives in contrast to CBN. It was a miserable failure.
//Desperate Rajasekhara Reddy fell on his own grave. Even TRS joined hands with them and met with the resignations from the government posts due to the Naxal threat! Political developments may take new turns! TRS and Congress(I) tie is in serious danger. That could lead to TRS liquidation by the events...and it too under desperate existince to prove their existence..may indulge in ugly acts in the State while nobody listens them.

At last the unofficial became official now in Andhra Pradesh regarding the re-imposition of ban on CPI (Maoist), dominant naxalite group in the state, and seven of its front organizations. Can mere banning solve the problem? In India, politics are being corrupted by caste, caste is being the slave for power and dominant mind-set that made the economic growth achieved without distributive justice institutionalized and strengthened further. As long as this tendency is not realized or checked, the violence continues to exist in the system. Earlier bans on the naxalites failed to make them silent and often left the rural areas facing the wrath of the law enforcing agencies. A senior police officer even told in public saying, “The Police will get sanctity for what they already do. Then ban will send a strong message to the people to have nothing to do with the banned organization”, is a dangerous caution even to the ‘Press’ as it no longer take the interviews of the banned leaders and their men. European and American governments are better than the Indian governments regarding the Freedom of Expression. Trigger-happy police men know how to eliminate an individual naxalite. But will it be the end of naxalism in the state? Mr. Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, the most intolerant towards the ‘Press’, has openly blamed it and journalists that they are not above the law. The Press never felt that it is above the law of the land. It’s him who ‘over read’ the nasal menace when he was in Opposition, had talked about the talks with the naxalites when then Chief Minister, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu was attacked at Tirupati. The people of the state welcomed his decision as they are fed-up with the violence in the state. The naxals too must realize that the guns and violence has no place in democracy and the attack on democracy is nothing but an attack on the ‘State’. The People of India shall stand united against such acts by anyone within or from outside. Naxals can change the system like whatever they want in a democratic way by making their movement democratic within the law of the land. These petty politics and blood-shedding will ultimately dilute their goals and ideology of getting an egalitarian society to a desired level. Moist doctrine might have worked in China, but Jayaprakash Narain’s way of implementation only works in India. It’s better for the government to lift the ban and resume talks involving all the eminent persons as facilitators keeping the interests of the state in mind.
But one thing is sure, if the police are given free-hand dealing with naxalists, their acts will invite troubles to the politicians and Congress(I) may loose it’s mass base and sympathy at gross-root level as it has broken its promise regarding Naxalite issue.
