Can you quote an example?
Also, Sorry to repeat it as you have not answered it
HOW MANY INSTANCES CAN YOU QUOTE IN THE HISTORY OF CRICKET WHEN THE CAPTAIN LOST HIS JOB AFTER A SERIES WIN, THAT TOO OVERSEAS?
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 26, Dec 2005 8:35:32 PM IST There are 2 ways to get rid off the players
1. Force them indirectly to show the doors
2. Kick them out by not selecting the team
Ganguly is in receiving end now, he was giving end several years
most of the decent players out by first method …
when stev vagh was out of the team most of media pages created huge cry against the decision even in ABC T.V interview also stev expressed his feelings.
Regarding the other knighthood players all decently out of the team when they are out of form they welcomed and encouraged new talent
Btw this knighthood not more than our padma sri/bhushan /etc…
I know most of the East African Indian ethnic Asian Tobacco and toiletries merchants also hold this “SIR ”
Posted by: Mr. The Fountainhead (A.K.A Fake ID) At: 26, Dec 2005 8:24:46 PM IST As he himself pointed out, Ganguly's batting average had been quite healthy in between the world cup and the Zimbabwe tour .. his winning record too had been consistent- yet he was shown the door without any convincing reason after the Zimbabwe tour.

We’re all know what happened to Garry sobers and Broadman, Ian botham, Richard Hadley etc

What happened to them? All of them played as long as they wanted to play and retired when they wanted to. Three of them were awarded Knighthood too!
Well you know what happened to Steve Vaugh when he failed as a player, but as world cup winning captain

Steve Waugh was given a great farewell and he was not stripped off the Test Captaincy.

Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 26, Dec 2005 6:20:25 PM IST We can’t compare the failures
Well you know what happened to Steve Vaugh when he failed as a player, but as world cup winning captain and so on ...
Regarding Tendulkar also same no favouritism one day or other day he’ll also face same.(if his performance goes like this)
We’re all know what happened to Garry sobers and Broadman, Ian botham, Richard Hadley etc
Posted by: Mr. The Fountainhead (A.K.A Fake ID) At: 26, Dec 2005 6:11:41 PM IST Exactly!! Just performance ..
In that case, Ganguly happens to be the only Captain who lost his captaincy after winning an Overseas tour!
If Performance is the base then we should have gotten rid of Tendulkar Long ago
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 26, Dec 2005 5:52:28 PM IST When u are playing for the country at the highest level.. No sentiments.. No emotions.. Just performance..
Moreover we can’t keep gavaskar because of his records and past opening history
We can’t call ashuman gykwad and sandeep patil because they are good in middle order …
How long the kaif and yuvaraj in and out of the team
At this time country cricket can’t effort non performing captain
We should open the doors for next generation talent
Let them come and win the best
Posted by: Mr. The Fountainhead (A.K.A Fake ID) At: 26, Dec 2005 5:46:42 PM IST Yeah, in that case inform him in advance and let him retire with Pride. We shouldnt insult him by making him a player/reserve player after what all he did for India.
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 26, Dec 2005 5:18:30 PM IST But Cricket doesn't have a concept of "non-playing captain" like in Davis Cup.
Posted by: Bahud♥♥rapu Baatasaari At: 26, Dec 2005 3:18:52 PM IST What I am saying is - He has to be in as a CAPTAIN .. not as a player.
Posted by: Malakpet Rowdy At: 26, Dec 2005 1:22:30 PM IST How about his past performances, his past wins? Don't you really think so that he "has to be in" depending on his past?
Keerty may be right.
