| The previous postings indicate the state of mind of our educated young who think that spiritualiy is irrevelent and useless in these days of scientific advancement and thus exhibit their ignorence of the fact that spirituality is the base of the entire creation including science and technology which again hinders their outlook towards life.Thus our thinking pattern itself is responsible to mistake spirituality as an obstacle to our over all progress.who is to be blamed for this kind of attitude towards spirituality?

gopika garu ,now i think many of our doubts get cleared if we go through the site that you have mentioned. I happened to read a book by Swami Sivanandaji long time back titled"what becomes of
the soul after death" in which swamiji clearly explains about the journey of the soul from death to another birth and so on.It has cleared many of my doubts about the soul.
Sai kiran (what a nice name to the dirty boy?)if you develop interest in the study of soul then read that book it will be available at any branch of the DLS, and all your doubts will be automatically cleared.

Anupama gaaru, as u have pointed out, in the initial stages when u can not recognise the Divine atmosphere around you, you need some physical guide that is idol or guru but once you get the hints of divinity inyour self and around ,you got to leave the physical form of the idol as well as your guru as otherwise you will be entangled with attachment to either idols or physical form of guru , thus losing the only chance for lifetime to reach divinity before you leave your body .so it is up to you to get attached to physical forms or divine thought throughout your life to reach your final destination within this life or later .depending up on youir sadhana.Thogh the idol helps you in the initial stages to have the glimpses of divinity , it is only through the constant rememberance of divine with the help of a capable guru you can be successful.

idol represents the material form which is gross that is opposit to the real form which is simple ,subtle and insignificant and the method to reach that state also should be simple and subtle .or otherwise the heart becomes heavy with the solid like grossness due to the atachment with physical forms

This thread is limited to a particular religion not applicable to all. Then the conflict is common because there is no unity of worship. In kerala something else and Tamilnadu a different picture and north, east and west each one differs in it's own way.

If one is not satisfied with idol worship switch over to other ( not saying perfect)where your spirtual needs are satisfied.
If parents want to admit their children in school they look for proven records of that particular institution.
Choice is left to the devotees insted of arguing which system or way is GREAT.

in the begining you will see the form but slowly it disappears from your vision as you get absorbed in that thought and that is the real progress which you can yourself understand and nobody needs to tell you where do u stand in your progress and that is the beauty of this spiritual sadhana.
