late night on e BOOKWORM was studying for his examination when the lights went out.he lighted two candles of equal length,one thicker than the other.the thick candle is supposed to last six hours and the thin one for two hours less.when he finally went to sleep,the thick candle was twice as long as thin one
for how long did he study by candle light?

if its 1,
then the one who is infected will see no red lines on any other face but the doctor said must be true.
so,he himself commits suicide at the end of first day....but not so....hence cannot be 1....
if its 2,
both the infected ones see one man has red lines on his face,so he wont commit suicide himself on the first day becauese he doesnt know that he himself was infected or not....
but if at the end of the frist day,if nobody commits......this means that the one who is infected thinks that the other infected person also sees someother who has red lines on his face,
relaizes that one is none other than him....
and so commits suicides at the end of second day....
it applies to both the persons...
so,if its two,both will commit suicide at the end of the second day......
if its 3,4,5
.......ammmooo........
same way........
since at the end of sixth day,
answer is six....

In an island,there were 54 sages.
on some fine morning,one doctor comes and says that one of you got infected by some disease which is contageous,and says,its better the diseased one go and suicide urself to save the remaining ones...and says that the symptom of the disease is that red lines will appear on their forehead..
the sages were very sincere and if he know that he is the diseased one,he will definately commit himself suicide...
every sage can see the all other faces except himsef..
since its an island,no chance of looking his own face there..
at the end of first day,no body has committed suicide,
at the end of second day also
and at the end of 3rd,4th,5th also
but at the end of the 6th day,some have commited suicide
how many of them have commited suicide and how?
