There is shortage of ink in the fountain pain, use minimum number of strokes to make the above equation valid

Train Time

When Colonel Crackem said on the breakfast table to his cook that he had to catch the 12:50 train, the cook said that it is an odd time for any train to start!
We have to figure out why the cook said so!
