Well I have a suggestion ... if one insists on knowing the identity of the other person then let one talk only to known people, ignoring all the others ..
and the one who doesnt have any problem in chtting with anonymous people would continue chatting with all ..
Either of this can happen without the interference of the moderator.

Personally my only issue with the anonymity is that its being misused and "IP address on demand, based on a genuine reason" woudl curtail the misuse to some extent.

As long as ID's don't affect anyone, there should be no fuss. The basic thing is a healthy discussion. IT is has to be left to concerned individual to have his or her name.

As long as the comments are comfortable, there is no problem. But some became personal and provoking others to be personal. They have the opportunity to deleted their unreal profile, but for those people who entered with real name has no that opportunity.

Vachaspati gaaru - Coming to a Porn name as ID, I don't think that ID has ever created any ruckus. It is only that you did not like his comments and you complained. Had that ID been supportive to your arguments, would have complained?

Like how we have pen names in the field of art, even in cine field most of the actors have the names other than their real and actual names.
