General Forum: Love | why people are away from spirituality which is based on the principle of love and devotion? | |
| if you can develop love towards all and devotion to divine then that itself is spiritual progress and one need not do any spiritual practise as such but how many can develop such spiritual qualities without practise?@ravi Keerti!
Posted by: Mr. jogarao pilla At: 22, Nov 2003 5:21:33 PM IST all this talk about spirituality.....doesnt seem to affect me excecpt for the fact that the subject of the discussion caught my eye..
it says spirituality is based on the principles of love and devotion...the whole answer to the paradox lies there itself...
in todays fast paced world and infact any world where time is a major factor....one cannot afford to throw time away ...so i guess thats the reason why spirituality is taking a back seat...but again if one follows the principles of love and devotion why would they need spirituality??
we could do our everyday duties and base our life on thsee two qualities...
we could love all ppl and be devoted to whatever we do .....to work to responsibility and to elders etc....doesnt this give us more happiness in the heart?
rather than spend time on spiritual talks ??and prayers etc??
spirituality is a way of life....you dont have to go out of the way to prove your spirituality...
love yourself your neighbour and all life and be devouted to whatever you do.....and keep everyone happy .....that is spirituality and that gives happiness
how many times havent we seen ppl who pray all day long and chat stuff but still suffer from sadness and misery??
so....guys like madhu kumar, jogarao, raghottam think about it...
bye
Posted by: Mr. ravi keerti At: 22, Nov 2003 5:10:32 PM IST It's the time we spend for religion and other duties. Most of the time we spend for earning bread where one is materialistic. The rest of time is being spent for domestic things which again a materialistic. The remaining to spare for religion purposes where one will be relaxed from all worries being peaceful in mind.
Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 22, Nov 2003 4:35:55 PM IST if we are material oriented we may lose interest in spiritualty but if we adopt spiritual practise we can do our material obligations in a perfect manner
and thus we can keep a balanced approach towards both matter and spirit.

Posted by: Mr. appalaraju kolleti At: 19, Nov 2003 12:37:24 PM IST To me the reason for the aprehensions on spirituality seems to be due to lack of proper understanding of the subject and practise and also having a wrong impression that if we are diverted to spiiruality we may lose opportunity to experience the finer aspects of our material life, which again is a wrong impression. In fact one can reach perfection only if he practises spirituality. it is like a bird which can fly high only if it uses its both wings, and similarly if we imagin ourselves as birds we need to use both wings of spirituality and materialism to raise our selves to greater states of existence by using both the wings.

Posted by: Mr. M Kumar N At: 17, Nov 2003 6:53:31 PM IST what needs to be done to create awareness among those who are ignorant of the spiritual benefits?
Posted by: Mr. jogarao pilla At: 17, Nov 2003 2:29:19 PM IST Absorption into self as a result of deep meditation is a kind of anaesthtic experience and creates intoxication and the body experiences lightness afterwards, where as the intoxication that one gets due to drugs and drinking, ends up into hangover and headache besides spoiling the system .But maditation brings balance in health in addition to lightness of body bringing happiness and contentment.
