General Forum: Current 'Affairs' | Telugus are fools | |
| As a Hyderabad resident I would be so much more happy if the govt puts more effort on providing water to Hyderabad. My rage was triggered by the promise to Jayalalitha to give water from the Kandaleru reservoir where the level is at its lowest ever. I feel very bad when project after project in AP, meant for water scarce areas, was delayed by 15-20 years, whereas the project to give water to Chennai was completed in record time.
Posted by: Ms. sapna endurthi At: 2, Dec 2003 7:18:08 AM IST i think with many ppl realising these facts..(about the increasing parochialism being shown in giving even clerical and similar level jobs to Tamils & This is done whenever a Tamil occupies a position in which recruiting power is vested...,etc..)we can overcome those Parochialistic Tamilians whereever they are..be it hyd,bng,india,us,un,etc..
i see there is increasing sense of awareness (esp the ladies..) amongst generally Docile telugu ppl..who " made great sacrifices after independence to get a separate state driven largely by the denial of opportunities by Tamils " Now, more than 50 years later, history will NEVER BE REPEATED..take my word..Sapnagaru..
TELUGUS ARE NOT TAME...!!
Posted by: Mr. aravind a At: 2, Dec 2003 5:00:28 AM IST Whilst I am not aware of what is hapenning internally within Andhra and Tamilnadu, most companies that are involved in outsourcing here, appear to be outsourcing most of the contracts to either Bangalore or Hyderabad within India.
It is my understanding that Hyderabad's profile has certainly come into international recognition after Bill Clinton's visit & the depth of IT knowledge in the region.
Your point therefore could be what is happening afterwards within the local company?
This is something that needs a radical culture change, where the best qualified person gets the job, irrespective of where they are from.
But to be fair, this is a global issue - where people tend to prefer someone who is from their area - probably to a slightly lesser extent elsewhere in the world, but is very prominent in India. I can assure you that this is not something that happens purely between Andhra and Tamilnadu, but happens regularly elsewhere in India.
Posted by: Mr. Gowrishankar Garigiparthy At: 1, Dec 2003 5:21:10 PM IST Telugus made great sacrifices after independence to get a separate state. This was driven largely by the denial of opportunities by Tamils. Now, more than 50 years later, history is being repeated. Many positions in Hyderabad companies are going to Tamils. I have no complaint against managerial positions. They must go to the best. What I am complaining is about the increasing parochialism being shown in giving even clerical and similar level jobs to Tamils. This is done whenever a Tamil occupies a position in which recruiting power is vested. Many companies in Hyderabad including large MNCs are evidences of this phenomenon. In one company even attenders were brought from Tamilnadu! We Telugus ahould learn. A Tamilian always tries to bring in more Tamilians. They go out of their way to give jobs to Tamils. Look at any Hyderabad company where a Tamil is the HR person and see the number of tamilians in that company.
In such a scenario it is sad that Chandra Babu Naidu is going out of his way to provide water to Chennai, when Hyderabad itself has no water!
I still fail to understand how the Telugu Ganga project was completed in record time whereas so many projects in AP have been delayed for years. A small section of Tamil IAS officers have played a major role in this.
Any comments?
