Yes. It's time for younger generation to take over the administration of India, getting the advises from the elders.

I am sure a person like Rahul Gandhi will do a better job than few senior ministers, though he may be raw to the job, atleast he will deliver things. The young have to be the core team and take over parties and politics, for the better future of india.

Right .. thats why the "Reject All" option would definitely present a new angle.

Kiranji, yes we must have the option to reject them. As of now we can invalidate the vote. Coming to the political parties themselves showing the alternatives, if they have them, why can't they project them? Posted by: Ms. Prasanthi Uppalapati At: 18, Jul 2005 4:19:26 PM IST ... If that provision explicitly included, I am sure, there will be no one in the parliament. But it's a good suggestion. Headless self-styled leaders of various political parties, may change their behaviour if this provision included. But many MPs or MLAs elect with 40 percent votes, that means six percent rejected them.

ARE POLITICIANS DOING SERVICE TO PEOPLE OR DOING SELF SERVICE? Either the Bearer serves you ,or you serve yourself ,the bill has to be paid by you . kiran ,we might loose the good ones ,if they werent allowed to contest more than 2 times . for ex- Jayalalitha ,Rajasekhar reddy ,most probably sonia gandhi .

Barring criminals from contesting elections will ntowork out since they would find loopholkes in the law .. But if we have a REJECT ALL option on the ballot box, any vote marked in that box would be treated as a vote against all the candidates .. and if REJECT ALL options gets majority ... then all the candidates are declared unfit. This is different from invalidating the vote, because invalid votes, as the name indicated are never vaild and absenteez opinion doesnt matter .. IF U BOYCOTT AN ELECTION, ONLYTHE VALID VOTES ARE COUNTED AND THE "BEST AMONG THE WORST" IS ELECTED .. BTU IF U GO TO THE POLLING BOOTH AND REJECT ALL THE CANDIDATES NONE OF THEM WOULD BE ABLE TO GET ELECTED (UNTIL THEY FIND AN ACCEPTABLE CANDIDATE)

There was a bill that criminals, /persons having a police case will be barred from contesting elections, for reasons best known to the political parties, it has not been passed, as i know. It is on back burner. This is present political scenario.
