hi, morning, in general, before buying the medicines, the particular tablets are taken out from the main carton/box, ensure to look for the expiry on that main box and pick these small quantity of medicines. In general the loose medicines not in strips are also in the same box of the medical shop for easy identification.

Kindly take this serious. Is there no other way to show the expiry date on every tablet. I remember some years back, this system prevailed. Now a days, unless we purchase a strip of 10 tablets, we do not have scope to know the date. I humbly request any medical expert who happens to see my doubt may kindly give solution.

I want to purchase only two tablets and the medical shop has got only two tablets in stock In such case, how to verify the genuinity of the date of expiry?

Expiry dates are very important in india . Most of the companies producing goods ,have to have an expiry date ,batch date ,and if possible the assembly line code printed on them . The basic fact is that you have a lot of duplicates in the market makes in impossible for anyone to check the expiry dates . In chennai ,the electrical business is run by the marwadis ,we have duplicate lamps ,fixtures cables etc . The chocolate distribution /food distribution is mostly done by the marwadis again ,where there are a lot of duplicates. Two wheeler dealerships are also by the marwadis ,and most of them have duplicates manufactured in house ,with the stickers and everything being duplicated . So ,I guess it dosent make any sense ,to check for expiry dates ,with regard to fakes .

Our desi vendors are too clever to camouflage the expiry dates with the price tags and sell them in US! e.g. biscuits, packed sweets, noodles, bottled drinks, shampoos, powder etc What are the governing laws? Arent these checked by FDA or any export authorities in INdia? Why do we still buy them? ...and consume them? *heads to patel groceries for some 'snakes'*
