well, select one from each race (takin 5 for each race)->5 races
conduct one race for any three of the best 5 and choose the first 2-> 1 race
the third one is made to race with remainin 2 and take the best -> 1 race...
total 7 races.
i donno whether i am right or wrong...

No UK...thats not right...
For example,any 3 winners from the first 5 set of races may be the best horses...but that case is violated in ur next two races...that is discarded...Try again....

There are 25 horses, and we wish to find the best 3 horses. A race can be organised for a max of 5 horses at a time. what are the minimum number of races required

For 25 horses, we conduct 5 matches @ 1st, & then take 2 each from each group, & conduct 2 more races & from theze 2 matches, select BEST 3...
(Donno whether right (or) wrong)
