| Rajasekhar aka taaraa juvva you never mentioned in your puzzle that a different couple can fly off with the aid of the boat.
The only condition given was about the banks. So, i added without any temptation, just to make your puzzle more believable.
I even mentioned about the 4th step in my posting. So, i feel going by the conditions u put on in the puzzle mine is right, but if we go deep into the logistics then some or the other bug creeps out.
What say?
Posted by: Janakiram Lakkapragada At: 10, Nov 2004 5:48:31 PM IST So,u r allowing W2 to fly off with H1?? how kind of u jackie???
and in ur 4th step, NO temptation ofr H1??? why?? after all,he is also a Man....:))
Posted by: Raj Sekhar At: 10, Nov 2004 10:41:22 AM IST 1. H1 and W1 start off in the boat and W1 is dropped on the other side.
2. H1 comes back, picks up W2 and drops off W2 on the other side.
3. H1 comes back again, gets off the boat and W3, H3 start start off and W3 is dropped on the other side.
4. H3 returns back(without any temptation for W1 and W2) gets off the boat and H1, H2 take the boat and go to the other side.
5. Then W3, without any temptation for H1 and H2, fastly gets on the boat comes back and picks up her nice hubby H3 and both cross of the river.
I think all the people cross the river, with all the conditions being met. But i hope this is one of the way, coz in the 2nd step if H1 likes W2 they can elope in the boat leaving this crossing thing to hell.
lol :) so i think folks can come out with different possible combinations.
What say rajsekhar is my thing right?
Posted by: Janakiram Lakkapragada At: 10, Nov 2004 6:18:38 AM IST but who will bring the boat back again??Rahul...there lies the question.....hope u got the question now
Posted by: Raj Sekhar At: 10, Nov 2004 1:58:44 AM IST May be I am missing somethin here. what's the puzzle here?
In order to meet all the conditions listed here, just ship each couple one after the other by boat to cross the river.
Posted by: Mr. Rahul Siddharth At: 10, Nov 2004 1:44:37 AM IST LOL priyaa......u just made all of them crossed without following anycondition...if its the problem of just crossing,whats the use of couples,conditions.....read the conditions also........all conditions are violated
For eg,in the second step,W3 is of low caste naa.....W2 cannot travel with W3
Posted by: Raj Sekhar At: 10, Nov 2004 1:41:31 AM IST No partha,no puzzles :(
hmmmm.....one from me :
Three couples are there.They have to cross a river.conditions are....
1.At a time max 2 persons can travell on boat.
2.A particular couple is supposed to be of low caste so oter two couples will not ride on boat with them.
3.On bank of river no women will be without her husband if other man is present.(because she can fly away with that man.)
(this can happen with low caste women also.)(If only womens are there then it is ok.)
Let couples are (H1,W1),(H2,W2),(H3,W3)..
H = Husband
W = Wife
u can assume (H3,W3) as lower caste
