there is no single answer for this problem...
because dowry is in practice now, people are
all arguing against it. Any other alternative also would have its own ills and there will be a different group of sufferers.
Not all the boys are beneficiaries... Think of all the boys who are victims of dowry system while doing marriages of their sisters......
