You can watch paper clippings in India express and 'The Hindu' other papers where you need to finish the game either with White or Black in one or two moves. Where you experiment a lot and learn more. Some games you can pick up from great players too. But you need to know how to read this game.
Other than this and online playing, I'm not sure other ways to learn.

with minimum knowledge you can play online and lose some games. Failures are stepping stones for success. you can read your game and with experience you can play better. i can play chess let's play online chess then you can learn much more there :) not now!
