General Forum: Religion | !!!! man created GOD !!! | |
| If man created God why not man create another world where only happiness and no sorrow is there. It is rediculous to say that man is all, when he is unable to do any creation except to know what is already existing or created.

Hi All,
I have been a silent member of this group. Have been watching the various
discussions going on wiht interest since a long time.... But recently I
think the group has started becoming a place to vent out your frustration
and anger, be it against religion, politics, corruption etc....
Guys! Why cant we instead focus on creative discussion... Instead of
venting anger over religion, corruption etc.....
Personally I feel that religion is a very personal thing and each person is
entitled to hold his or her own views and opinions.... These should not be
debated publically. There is no right or wrong religion. Till the time a
religion focuses on joining hearts and people, it is right. When it starts
breaking heart s and bond between people, it becomes wrong.
If we see the historical development of Religion, we will find that
religions have changed according to the prevailing socio - economic nature
of society. The earliest religions were animistic, wherein people
worshipped Animals and Trees.... The next step was the evolution of
Polytheistic Religions like Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Viking religions
wherein Man Worshipped the forces of nature which were personified as Gods.
The Vedic religions was also similar - Indra (Rain), Agni (Fire), Surya
(Sun), Varun (Sky) were the Gods. The next development was that of
Monotheistic religions. These included the Semitic Religions (Christianity,
Islam, Judaism) and the Oriental Religions (Buddhism, Sikhism, Modern
Hinduism). Wherein these religions believed in one all powerful spirit
called God. Some of these religions still hold beliefs in natural Powers
personified as Gods - Devtas in Hinduism, Angles in Christianity,
Bodhisattvas in Buddhism, but they all thve given the ultimate authority to
one all powerful omnipresent being - Onkar in Hindusim, Allah in Islam,
The holy ghost in Christianity.
If we analyse it thouroughly, the various religions have been a mirror of
Man's Social, emotional and Intellectual Development over long ages.
The early human beings were Hunter Gatherers. People living in specific
areas depended on specific animals, fruits of roots to support them. These
animals started to get more and more importance in their day to day
lives..... Slowly they became so important that the men started praying to
the same Trees, forests or animals to provide them a regular supply of
food, to protect them from danger etc.... These animals, trees, forests, in
certian cases rocks, became the first totemistic Gods.
Time changed and with the dvelopment of agriculture, man started to settle
down, his dependance on the totemistic Gods grew less and less, the social
structure started getting more and more complex.... But now, the crops were
always on the mercy of the vagaries of nature.... Man was intelligent, he
had the capability to think that everything that happens has a cause.,....
nothing happens without a cause.... but he was unable to understand, for
example as to how he got good rains in one year, while bad in the next,
affecting his crop..... The natural elements, rain, Fire, Sky, Sun, were
never this important to him..... He began to think of a spirit behind every
natural phenomenon.... he believed they were good basically, but punished
man for his misdeeds by withholding thier mercy from time to time or
unleadshing thier fury (thunder, Quakes) when man became too full of pride
or did too many sins.....
This was the era of Polytheism all great cultures at that time believed in
the pantheon of Gods (greek, roman, Egyptian, viking, Aryan).....
The next great development came because of increasing complexity of Human
society. In his wanderings for trade and commerce, man got an inkling of
the vast expense of the world, he used to think about the stars, as to what
they are.... Subconciously he relaised that they must be worlds like our
own.... he knew that natural phenomena do not direct all our thought and
action..... He therefore surmised that there must be a more powerful spirit
at the back of it all.... this cahnge was also prompted by teh fact that as
man started to invent things and discover better methods of sharing
information, getting a better crop yield, he started becoming more
specialised in various fields, he saw that there is suffering in the
world.... he saw diseases, he saw pain and joy of victories... he found
that there are certain laws which natural forces obey.... that meant that
there must be someone controlling them.... the one who has given the
laws....
also with the increasing complexity of human life, man started being more
stressed... he was no more the carefree hunter gatherer who just cared
about his daily food... he now had to take care of money, ofd status in
society, of a good house, of the best clothes... of other's
expectations.... and more often than not, he fell short....
The human brain was not made to cope with this kind of complexity....
therefore there were more and more cases of men going insane, running away
from society, suicides etc..... In the end the human brain found a
solution... A God who is always there... if there are problems, he told it
to god and thought that noe it can be soleved, if anything bad happened,
rather than fretting about it he could say - God's Will..... It all gave
him tremendous mental peace and satisfaction.
We can actually say that "Rather than God Creating Man, actually Man
Created God".......
Therefore any person is entitled to his or her own way of worshipping God,
as long as they get mental peace and satisfaction... I believe in all what
I have written over here, and I know it to be true, bu applying common
sense... but still I find that I can bring peace to my mind when I think of
God.... I still pray in the traditional vedic way.....
My intention is not to say that all religions are wrong... my intention is
to tell you, that religion is a way of life... it has nothing to do with
God.... and also that it is a very personal thing since most people require
it for psychological support.. therfor ewe should not question anybody's
idea about religion...
These are my Views. I may be right according to you or not.... But I hope
you will give a thought to all this.
With Warm Regards
