Marriage based on tradition is always good. Unnecessary hype increases the expenditure. It is always good, in my opinion, to get married traditionally with all hymns. Elders bless us, friends wish and tease, we can meet all the relatives, it is real fun, if marriage is done with true meaning. We need not have grand decorations and extravaganza, but we should see to that every person who attended is well received and feel as part of the celebration. Regarding the expenses, one should spend and later both should borne. That way it is more better. Again marriage is not for publicity or show-off. But if we can be an example without taking any dowry and share that news with others, who knows someone who has interest also be inspired and do the same. That way we can expect a positive change. We must be the example of what we preach.

Yes DoBoy, there are 100000001 ways of taking dowry. I've already told about my bil, who is not taking any dowry, but he'll get lot of property. If husband spends a single quarter that wife earned, eat a meal that wife bought, then it can be considered as dowry.

bb, what i meant here was , all that are also indirect way of taking dowry, a man may not take dowry, but may claim that in guise of other expenses?

DoBoy, Mr Murty clarified your first question. Subsequent ones, why do you want to incur expenses for the marriage? Why does girl's side also need to bear them? Just get into registrar office and register your marriage by signing in there. If the registrar make the clerk to ask you guys for bribe, yes either you give it or ask VeVa to come for your rescue. First of all, why do you need publicity for getting married?

What is VEVA garu trying to say here under this thread? Whether ,We should pledge not to take dowry? How about the expenses of the marriage, should it be borne by both the male and female equally? or since, the male is not taking dowry, the entire amount has to be borne by the female side? or the third option, to show off u are different to others, the male bears the entire expenditure? can some one throw light on this? The subject is vague?

Posted by: Mr. Vachaspathi V At: 18, Jun 2005 7:24:07 PM IST cool down vachaspati. cooldown. I can also post in english. My question is pertinent to this nO dowry club thread itself. If you can not understand it is your foolishness. 1. My first question is why you posting again the same act?. Is that space in TP .com is available very freely? 2. Why you have not answered the question that It is dowry prohibition Act and noT dowry abolition Act even after repeatedly asked and pointed by baatasaari? 3. who are you toask me to get out? It is better for you to do the same if you can not answer pertinent questions. thanks to all who spoke against rude language of veva.
