The simplest version is to write VI, then invert the paper and write(add) IV above the inverted VI, then if you invert the paper again you would see XI
Kinda like this ...

No No if you flip IV horizontally it becomes VI and when you invert it it becomes /\I .. (May be I used wrong terms)and place /\I below VI, V and /\ becomes X and I under I becomes | ..

Dont worry, its right - I'm just wondering about 'Flip and Invert IV ... ' statement - if you flip and invert IV it will be VI and moreover you will be placing IV over VI and not under VI - dont hit me with a pan now! :P

Four in Roman is IV
Six is VI
Flip and Invert IV and place it under VI, it gives you XI which is 11 :))
Lemme think of other ways now!
