| Dwija means twice born and that is by birth no one becomes brahmin but only undergoing samskaaras prescribed in the scriptures where in all these indicated and u can check up with any sanscrit pandit or ur grand parents .A real Brahmin treats every human being equally without any raaga or dwesha, but with a sense of duty towards God. Thank u for recognising me as ignorant fellow being.-)

in our sociaty wich caste is higher
bramhin,kamma ,reddy, nayudu,gouda,chakali,mangali,mudhiraj,or yaday?remember one thing these are all hindus.why one is higher than other?

Saikiran, i think that the term Brahmin means the one that lives in Brahm (God) and so he is the mediator to Him or he alone can educate the ignorant masses about their duties to SELF AND GOD and hence respected by the society at large.(but this is relevent to the days gone by.)

can anybody other than the one that is born in the brahmin community perform upanayanam like the one prescribed for brahmins ?
