Thanks a lot to all of you for the great response.
1. We are trying to contact Air India regarding cargo. If any one of you know anybody in Air India, please let us know. We will find out someway to ship the cloths to India. Meanwhile you can start collecting.
2. Yes, directly providing relief is not possible and creates more problems. We are going to find a genuine organisation that can work do the relief work on behalf of TeluguPeople.com - this way, we wanted to encourage all the TP members.
3. Regarding joining hands with any other group, as we are only doing relief work in AP, we would like to do it on the TP name to encourage TP members. If anybody can join with us, that will be great and we welcome you.

Rediff chat group can align with TP.com group to make it a bigger one - we have a gathering on Jan 16 - in case my guys are okay with the idea of a joint effort, would u be interested?

Dear Friends,
A close friend of us Mr.David, who has lot of experience in these type of NGO activities is leaving for affected areas tomorrow.
He is in the process of finding a genuine organisation to distribute the donations we are gathering.
Meanwhile if you can collect cash or material like cloths etc. in your areas keep them with you. If necessary, be ready to go to the affected area so that you can directly monitor the relief activities on behalf of TP.com. This way, more TP.com members can come forward to help. We are trying to help the victims directly as much as we can. This requires help and time from all of you.
We are expecting to get more information in the next 6 to 9 hours. Once we identify the organisation, then, we will post their details here.

We are still working out the plan. Please keep watching this thread.
We are looking for people who can "actively participate" in this effort in Hyderabad/Vizag/and other coastal towns.
1. Fund Raising
2. Collect material/ medicines / relief goods and stock them at your home until they are moved to the relief areas.
3. Visit the affected areas for a week or so and try to do direct help by interacting with the relief workers / organisations.
