Read the following Links. http://www.hindu.com/mag/2005/12/25/stories/2005122500240300.htm http://www.hindu.com/mag/2006/01/01/stories/2006010100140400.htm ... In response to these articles, I sent a response just now.It is given below. ... Kalpana Sharma’s ‘Can women ever be safe?’ (25 December 2005) and Mala Kumar’s ‘Outsourcing Security’ (1 January, 2006) – have a lot of relevance on the issue of safety and security for the staff working at odd hours. I would like to give some suggestions. One, the root of the cab must be informed to all the connected police stations. Second, the security officer of the company must be in touch with the driver of the taxi or cab on each and every hour, and the Police Control Room must be in touch with the Security Officer. Third, the women in the taxi or cab must have a saved message indicating the threats, in their mobile and must have police officials’ mobile number must be ready, so that they can send SMS to them that includes name of the driver and number of that taxi or cab. Last but not the least, installing an ‘Emergency’ button connected to all the emergency services of the city, and Video recording of the journey, in the cab will enhances the security of the inmates. And women must not shy to talk about misbehaviour by anyone in the cab.

Rights in law pages fall exactly on the black colored text. Violators always look for white space around it. Providing extra rights to the minorities and weaker sections is like adding text in margins.

Particularly in the case of a woman, whether the complaint is a written one or an oral one makes no difference.Just an information regarding a crime is enough. After the receipt of the information the Police will issue the First INFORMATION Report. In the case of Ms.Ganga Bhavani it is a very sad incident.Even though she an educated woman things have turned worse. As per the news papers she had already given a complaint in one police station earlier and again she had given a subsequent complaint to another Police station. But the subsequent complaint may be given to the first police station only.Since things have already gone worse, now the parents of the deceased can appraoch the High Court. There are incidents where the High Courts have directed the Government to give some compensation to the parents or the legal heirs. The compensation is not the solution to a deceased person but it is (1)the government will take an action against the Police Officers concerned because the audit from the Accountant General will be very serious; (2)will be a lesson to other police officers in future.
