Posted by: Pallavi At: 11, Aug 2004 2:24:07 PM IST hi to all,
here goes another one
can any one put elephant into fridge in three steps.
assumptions:
1) fridge is sufficent enough to accomodate elephant
2) step does not count walking steps, here step means activity.
all the best
sorry for then who already know this puzzle

2from 2nd,3 from 3rd....so on......inkaa detailed gaa cheppanaa..
Posted by: Pallavi At: 11, Aug 2004 11:29:25 AM IST absolutely correct mr clueless
it is even/odd logic.
cool here goes another one
there are 10 peole and each carrying 10 rods of gold 10kgs each (effectively each is carrying 100kg) but oneperson removed 1 kg from each of his 10kgs (so he is carrying 90kg) , we have to find who is the one. all that we have is a balance which can be used only once, and it cannot weight more than 980kg.
good day

Posted by: Ms. sowjanya m At: 11, Aug 2004 11:23:52 AM IST Puzzles are puzzles, why just math? I liked Malak's puzzle(about the car) actually!
Coming to Sowjanya's puzzle...
I think only 1 (minimum) can go wrong in guessing, the 10th one who can see the rest of the 9 people and here is the logic...
- Since #10 can see all the hats in front of him and since there are 9, one color has to be more than the other like 5-4, 6-3, 7-2, 8-1 or 9-0. By virtue of this odd number he would "say" the color that is more and not the one on his head thus giving a clue to the rest of the people which is more.
- Taking that hint, #9 can see the rest of the 8 in front of him and can easily guess what color is on his head
- #7 would apply the same logic, remembering what #10, #9 & #8 said and does the math
- the rest will follow the same logic
note: contradictory to what has been mentioned in the puzzle that there are no cheats, the 10th person has to cheat according to the above logic
Posted by: చంటోడు At: 11, Aug 2004 4:45:43 AM IST here goes another puzzle
thre are 10 people each were standing in a row such that 10th person could see all the others except his head, 9th person could see rest head but not his own and 10ths. 8th person could se 7th onwards but not 10,9, and his own like that 1 could see no one else
the question is they are wearing 2 colord hats, some are blue and some are green, before standing they were given a time to discuss about how they stand and how can they guess the hat on their own head, all that need to be done is everyone has to say the color of the hat they are wearing no cheat codes, no signals, no gestures, but they should guess, minimum no of persons could not guess, what is that minimum number and what is the logic behind the guessing ?
